We booked this hotel at very short notice and had to pay quite a top rate for an Executive Double as there were only four rooms left. We were attending the Womens Euro 22 match at St.Mary’s Stadium in Southampton and there were no hotels close to the stadium. Particularly with parking. Knowing that there was extreme difficulties in parking at at the Stadium we asked the hotel to book us a taxi to and from the stadium at the times we requested. They did so and kindly emailed confirmation . The Hotel is situated adjacent to one of the Cruise terminal and is perfect for a pre cruise or post cruise stay and a handy cruise parking is available.it is also close by the city centre within walking distance. Our room was excellent, overlooking the terminal. It had air conditioning, safe, a king double bed, some complimentary goodies like a small bottle of Prosecco, water and Kit-Kats. The bathroom too was roomy with hand basin, toilet and walk in shower. Again all clean and tidy. There was a very small problem with noise from the terminal with the early arrival of a cruise ship but nothing untoward. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was included in the rate. There were excellent choices of fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, cereals and jams etc. along with good choices in the good old full English breakfast. All the items were well cooked and hot. Save the fried eggs which are always well done in most hotels unless individually cooked. It was do your own toast , coffee or tea. Again choices of all of these were available. Despite other reviews we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and have absolutely no complaints at all. It certainly compared favourably with the buffet style breakfasts on a cruise ship, of which we have done many. We found all of the staff friendly , helpful and courteous. Check in and out was very easy and there is a car park charge but that happens in other hotels too. Overal, although a little expensive our stay was enjoyable and pleasant.

I returned to the Leonardo Royal Southampton a year after my last stay to visit the nearby boat show. Check in time is quite late at 16:00 but I checked in online and received an email at 15:15 to say my room was ready. Lovely executive room with a balcony overlooking Southampton. Nice touches like a handwritten welcome note with chocolates on the bed and a Nespresso machine in addition to the kettle and tea/coffee facilities. Very comfortable bed and a very quiet room despite the hotel being full. Prompt, attentive service from the bar and they went above and beyond by fetching Worcestershire sauce to add to my guests tomato juice! I was delighted to see that the bar area has been decorated and the hotel generally was looking more loved with signs of investment. The pool and spa area has also been decorated and was generally looking smarter. It is great that the pool is open from 06:30 to allow a swim before breakfast. The breakfast buffet in Leo's was excellent with a good range of food available. Plenty of freshly cooked hot items available for the full English with smiling, friendly staff toping items up as required. Congratulations to the management for all your efforts in these difficult times for the hospitality industry, these are certainly paying off. I hope that those who have had a less positive experience than me will give you another try. I will certainly be back.
Hey you, we are glad you made it. Want to know what makes Moxy Southampton a boutique hotel at its heart? Is it the bright and open lobby where guests check in at the bar (first drink is on us)? Or the social spaces with comfy seating, and large work desks with charging points galore? Maybe, it's the fact that all 208 bedrooms are equipped with 42-inch ChromeCast TVs so you can bring your Netflix binge with you. Whether you’re a couple in town for some R&R, a family (yes, including the dog) headed for a staycation close to New Forest, or a business traveller that wants a relaxed, boutique hotel in Southampton, you are sure to feel at home. Our Southampton hotel offers a 24-hour food and beverage outlet offering a wide selection of grab n go snacks and drinks, we’ve got a coffee-shop-by-day-cocktail-bar-by night vibe. We're also located in a prime spot. As a hotel near West Quay Shopping Centre, you'll find plenty to keep you occupied whilst you're here in Southampton.

We arrived a couple days before our cruise and we're glad that we chose this hotel. The location was perfect for us. We took a bus from London and the hotel was about a ten minute walk from the bus terminal. We also did some exploring by train and the train station was also a short walk away. The ”old town” area is nearby as is a huge shopping center. The cruise ship was less than five minutes away by Uber. We checked in at the bar and were quickly on our way to our room. This was our first stay in a Moxy. The room seemed unusual to us, but perhaps that's the Moxy way. There were no drawers, no closet, hooks on the wall for hanging clothes (hangers provided), one shelf on each side of our queen bed and one sheft on the opposite wall. There is a night light under the bed that is activated by a motion sensor. I never saw that before but it worked well. The room had very strong WIFI and there were lots of charging ports for electronics. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower was quite small but had a powerful stream and consistent temperature. There is no tub. The small lobby has books, puzzles, and more. There was even a guitar there (perhaps inviting someone to play?). Breakfast at the bar was included and I thought it was pretty good. I'm happy that we chose this hotel. We'll certainly return for our next Southampton cruise.

Decided to book this Novotel as a place to stay for a couple of nights in Southampton for some wedding celebrations. We have previously visited this hotel approx 22 years ago as we had our wedding held at this hotel. So we were familiar with the hotel location and surroundings as we frequently visited Southampton centre for many years over the past 22 years. The location is ideal if you are arriving by coach and train. The coach station is literally on the door step of this hotel , approx 500/600 metres away. The train station is also within walking distance too. You really are in the centre within walking distance of the main shopping centre , the West Quay .John Lewis entrance is only a 10 min walk from this hotel which takes you into the West Quay shopping centre. Novotel has a car park , which is shared with 2 other hotels at this location , including an Ibis hotel. There are plenty of spaces to park, however we arrived off season and I can imagine during the cruise season it can get busy. My only grievance with Novotel is, we booked through the Novotel website and it does say on there that parking is available however you have to pay £10 per night to park your car there. Upon arrival, you just speak with the checking in staff, provide them with your car registration number & they simply register it on their system and you pay them at the counter for your parking. So £20 on top of your hotel booking as we were staying for the 2 nights. We decided not to book any breakfast as on your doorstep is a McDonald’s…literally at the car park entrance….there is also an IKEA store 5 minutes walk from the hotel. You can see it from the hotel rooms.since the hotel is alongside the major road alongside the port, you can walk along there to IKEA and towards the pier.if you’re really lucky , you can admire one of the large cruise liners berthed up…we did , you could look at it from the hotel car park. There is also a TGI Fridays restaurant across the car park entrance at this location and a small retail park with a few shops like Poundland etc. The checking in process was seamless and we got the lift to our room which was one of the top floors. The room was pretty large ..we had a king size bed and a large double sofa bed open for our 2 teenage kids. The room had pretty well insulated windows with some really good blackout curtains. The tv was a decent size and the room also boasts a small fridge with some complimentary bottles of water. There is also a small safe which you can change the lock number on however I’m not sure how secure it can be as these budget safes are battery operated with a manual overide key., but they’re handy if you want to place some small items in there like your car keys etc. I wouldn’t be leaving anything particularly valuable in there or your passports if you’re staying here prior to your cruise….you’re better keeping them with you. The overall ambience of our room was warm welcoming relaxing and comforting which is what you want to
The ibis Southampton Centre is less than 2 miles from City Cruise and Ocean Cruise terminals, ideal for the nights before or after a journey. Book our Park and Cruise package to make the most of your stay, leaving your car in our secure carpark until you return. Walk to Southampton Central train station in just 5 minutes, or get here in 7 minutes by train from Southampton International Airport. The Mayflower Theatre and St Mary Stadium are also nearby, plus Southampton shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

The hotel was one of the best Premier Inns we have been in. Food was cooked well, a good selection for breakfast and dinner and the room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Chris. I had to unexpectedly go into hospital in the early hours of the morning. Chris was extremely helpful and his offers of help were much appreciated. I returned a week later and again he was professional, helpful and friendly. I have recommended this particular hotel to friends and family.

We stayed one night for a football match. It was a very busy bank holiday weekend but the staff were really helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in a twin room on the 6th floor and one thing we noticed was that even with the window shut, the noise felt like it was completely open so not best sound-proofed.
We will stay here again.

Booked a room and called to request an extra bed. All agreed. At arrival, staff insist no extra bed and couldn't care less as I was told ”well there's nothing we can do”. Appalling service for such a big hotel.

I had stayed in this hotel many moons ago when it was part of the to Marriott group, I understand it is now Ellite /Britannia hotels and there is nothing ellite about it. Check in time is 4 pm, and checkout 10 am, that gives six hours to clean and turn around the vacated rooms, So you would expect them to be absolutely spotless, room was clean enough, it smelled of smoking but went, when the windows opened, few hairs in the bath tub, the wooden cabinets smelled musty and dust on lamps, but the bed was clean and so was the bedding. On check-in I didn’t realise it was 4pm, I assumed it would be 2 pm or 3 pm at the latest. I asked if any of the rooms were serviced so I could check in early, I was told there were lots of rooms ready but you have to pay £20 extra to check-in early regardless of the fact they ready, I was due to be at a wedding at 5 pm, I had to accept the £20 payment, I was not impressed as this took my one night stay in this hotel to £189 for the night. In comparison I could get a one night stay in the Park Plaza, Waterloo for the same price in London! This hotel is not worth that much a night. The hotel was like a maze and had to go upstairs along creaky corridors carrying a suitcase case up more stairs with no accessibility by lift to my room (room 657) Room had the very basics cheap nasty shampoo, A few sachets of tea and coffee, towels but no bottled water. At night I could hear a few guests from other rooms, it didn’t disturb me. The pool is absolute mess, it had a pipe going from the hot water tap into the pool, which I burnt my bottom on and my husband burned his thumb, I can only assume the heater doesn’t work so it’s the only way they’ve got to heat the pool, The water didn’t look very good I wonder if the filter was working? In photographs on booking.com their shows a Jacuzzi, there isn’t one! there hasn’t been a working for more than 10 months, and the broken one has now been removed altogether, I think it’s very misleading. I don’t like to book a hotel without a pool and a Jacuzzi, I like to relax why I’m away from home. The pool look too scary to go into, and there was no Jacuzzi! Breakfast wasn’t too bad, Choice of cereals, fruit juices and cooked breakfast, no croissants or pastries. Coffee was horrible. Breakfast is advertised until 10am but they closed and locked the doors at 9:58, I only made it with 10 minutes to spare, it wasn’t explained me that breakfast actually ended at 10. I would assume people could still go for breakfast at 10 and still have time to sit down and eat, this is not the case! Would I stay here again absolutely not! it is probably a £50 a night budget hotel in the middle of nowhere unless you are playing golf I really wouldn’t bother. Disappointed that booking.com gives this hotel four stars.

GGuest UserThis was my first time venturing out into the world after the pandemic and a coeliac diagnosis two years ago. The hotel was quite busy on the Friday when I checked in and only one lift was working, but that really was a small niggle. The lift was repaired by the time I returned to the hotel in the early evening. The restaurant was great when it came to catering to my gluten allergy. There were a few options, and the guy at the front of house went the extra mile to check if the fish was fried in the same oil as non-GF food. Unfortunately, that was the case, and I'd suggest that either provision is made for a separate fryer, or the GF designation is taken off that item on the menu. But there were other things I could have, so it wasn't really a problem. Breakfast was excellent. The lovely young lady at the front of house took my order and explained that the chef would prepare it in a GF-section of the kitchen, so I'd have a 15 minute wait. It really wasn't a problem and it was well worth the wait. Beautifully prepared, generous portion. Friendly service. The room was fine. I loved pulling back the curtains in the morning and seeing the massive cruise ships in port. Only quibble was the pillows, but I'm picky. Otherwise the room was nice and clean, and I appreciated the a/c. I would definitely stay here again.
MMAYCATThe room is clean and have enough space for three of us. We can see the Ageas Bowl just in front of our window. The shower is strong enough to eliminate the fatigue. Recommend.
GGuest UserBeautiful grounds! The entrance to the hotel is amazing. It’s in a fantastic setting, lovely to walk around the grounds aha explore. The room is slightly dated in comparison to other hotels, however the bed is comfy and you have a tv and hot drink facilities. Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were a nice touch.
PPassport34406013010The setting is absolutely fantastic and calm. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very quiet. The restaurant food is excellent (we opted for the three-course evening meal). Unfortunately, the restaurant service needs to be improved. The staff is quite disorganized and the wait can be long. The orders are imprecise and although I had dinner every night with the package including the three-course menu, I had to correct the bill every night because the staff had ”forgotten”...
DDAIMEIBreakfast is ok, I can't add an extra bed in the room I stayed in, but there is no problem sleeping a family of three on the bed. The hotel is on a high-speed road, suitable for self-driving, there is a parking lot, and my car can be seen through the window. The heating in the house I live in is too hot. It is very warm when I enter the house, but it is too dry and hot at night, and the sound insulation of this hotel is not good. .
GGuest UserBooked this guest house has had to be in southampton for my sisters funeral arrived at about 2.45pm and checked in went to room everything was lovely and clean bed very comfortable and pillows were excellent, the whole experience was wonderful as being in this trade im quite fussy but not here all was very good the hosts were very friendly aswell will stay again if in southampton
XXuhaocaiThis hotel is located next to the highway. It is simple like a motel and is surrounded by McDonald's, coffee shops and small supermarkets. It has complete living facilities. Although it is not luxurious, it is clean and comfortable enough to meet the needs of a good night's sleep. For travelers who are in a hurry, it is a convenient and affordable accommodation option.
WWEIThis hotel is basically only British, the weekend leisure place, the place where the locals gather, it gives me a very good feeling, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, came to a quiet, self-driving friends can choose here. We went to the Pigeon Peggy Paradise the next day and chose it because there was no amazing location for Southampton accommodation. The parking lot is large and free. There are almost all the towns where you can drive for a few minutes. I also saw Chinese restaurants and Chinese chefs. The house is very big. The family of three is absolutely no problem. It’s very good early, that is, there are a lot of people, and there are queues.
GGuest UserThe place was clean and a good size for a family of six. It would be beneficial to have a bathmat in the tub, shower gel and improve the hot water in the bathroom as well. I would also suggest having shower gel in the bathroom. Thank you.
