OYO Devine Beach Hotel, Westcliff Southend-On-Sea

It is absolutly disgusting it made my skin crawl and the room is full of crockcroaches i also got bit by one i did not enjoy my stay and WILL NOT STAY AGAIN DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE they need to get pest control in seriously the owners do not like being confronted with being told about the roaches either i think she is in denial

I booked at the last minute and quite late, and actually arrived before all the passwords arrived on WhatsApp, but there was someone available to let me in. Unfortunately, the room I was allocated was already occupied - I found this out when I entered the pass code and went into the room, which could have been very awkward. But again, the lad who let me in was able to allocate a room with a key and not a pass code, so it worked out all right, but it's a bit alarming that I was sent incorrect room details. Room was OK, it was basic and not en-suite, but fine for a night's stay. There is no breakfast provided but there was parking (bit of a tight squeeze).

I want to say a massive thank you to Ronny for helping us and going out of her way to help us locate a family member who had mislaid their phone.she even drove back to the hotel and waited for them to come back in. Definitely 5 star customer service. *****

The hotel itself is dated and in need of a desperate refurb. Room to small to swing a cat in and you couldn't swing a mouse in the bathroom. Bed was squeeky and uncomfy and the walls are PAPER THIN! Loved hearing blaring tvs the whole time I was there. HOWEVER! The staff are absolutely lovely and really helpful. Most importantly whilst the place looks tired it is scrupulously clean! All key/careless on smart phone style looks. There is a hairdryer, fan and kettle with milk, coffee and tea in the room PLEASE NOTE You will be asked to pay a £50 holding charge to cover any damage you do. I was surprised by this. The transaction was cancelled on my account on checking out after she'd checked my room. Also checking in is all done electronically where you scan a qr code and you have to upload your id. Once you do that you will get an entry code text to you. Try to do the registration thing befoee you get there - not fun in rain. It's cheap, what do you expect? Cleanliness and somewhere to crash out. Just what you get

If you're travelling for a cheap & cheerful weekend at the beach, or a show at the Cliffs, I would definatley reccommend this spot. Plenty of parking on surrounding roads, 10 minute walk to the theatre, good size of the room for a very reasonable price, and super close to Westliff station. Be reasonable with expectations when you're getting such a bargain, but staff were very friendly, room and ensuite were a good size, and the fridge in the room is a bonus. Bed wasn't the softest but didn't get in the way of a good night's sleep! Only one key available per room, so make sure to plan for this.

Great location, comfy bed, TV, fan, fridge and hot drink facilities. Comfy bed, so had a good night's sleep. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this hotel for a night's stay.
