First, the staff were helpful and went the extra mile to get me a great rate.
It was a secondary issue that things were less than immaculate. Things were relatively clean and I had low expectations. It was clear that their cleaning was surface-level and did not include any deep cleaning. There was grime in the seams and crevices in the fridge and microwave, as well as around the light fixtures, etc. I felt I needed to clean all level surfaces I’d contact. This really shouldn’t happen. This was not new filth, it was the result of light cleaning with no attention to detail.
The inconvenience was that I had a lot of stuff and there was no elevator, nor any cart to use. I suppose that’s normal for two-star motels.
