„Unfortunately my experience wasn't good. Hot water didn't work, it was only warm. I did it in the afternoon anyway but ny boyfriend waited untill 11pm. Elettronic key of our room never worked. We always had to call someone to open our room. About water problem they said there was an issue in all the hotel and they can fix it the next morning. We could not find a standard queen bed room, they have queen room just very expensive and for cheaper price they have only twin rooms. We paied a full amount for the night we staied but we didn't have full 100% service we should receive from the booking. They suggest us a refund to change hotel but it was so late and we are travelling with bicycles, after a ride of 150km we were too tired to move in another location during the dark at 10pm. We just needed a hot shower and a bed to sleep. Finally we received a 100 cny caution back, and the next morning ladies at reception gave us 6 small bottle of water to apologize. I'm really upset about nobody advise us about water issue during check in, so there was still time to move in another accomodation, especially for elettronic key, I can't understand why it's never worked. Be carefull for next booking about rooms at 5th level. I don't know if it's a problem only for foreign people or for everyone. Room price list are very expensive so, I think they have not a bad service. Unfortunately it's the first time during my 32 years happened this, especially during my 27 days in China, all the issue where always well reserved. This time my experience was really stressful, I don't feel like to recommended it and I hope never happen again to other travelers. Thank you anyway.”

„Great and unique hotel. Very comfortable “glamping.” Location is about a mile or 20 min walk from the Shandan Army farm. Breakfast start at 8am which is a bit late since the Shandan horse walk in the morning is between 7-9am, which means you would really want to have breakfast around 6:45am. So we were not able to have breakfast and there’s also nothing to eat inside the horse farm. Other than that, overall good experience. I would recommend. Also note you need to buy water here which is unusual for hotels, normally hotels give you unlimited bottles of water.”

„Huaixi Town is close to the core reserve of Qilian Mountain National Park, with snow-capped mountains, grasslands, herds of cattle and sheep, and the natural scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. It is indeed Qilian, the paradise! I hope humans can protect this area! Although limited by objective conditions, the bathing facilities in the town are relatively average, but it can be seen that they are run with care. The electric heater must be praised! Breakfast is also OK. The restaurant here can make roasted whole lamb, which tastes far better than the northwest lamb roasted whole lamb in Zhangye city! Also, the price of horse riding here is cheaper than that in Sihai~”

„During summer vacation, we took our children to visit the Hexi Corridor. Our last stop was the Shandan Military Horse Farm in Zhangye. We chose to stay at the Xingxiu Hotel, which opened in 2024. The accommodation was very good and close to the scenic area, just a few minutes' walk away. Unfortunately, the weather was not good. It was raining continuously and the temperature dropped sharply. We rented a windbreaker from the hotel. The landlady was very kind and let us wear it to the station on the day we checked out, and then the driver took it back with us. This prevented us from catching a cold.”

The next day, the car rental driver was introduced to take us to the racecourse.
