The BEST hostel I’ve been in my 7 countries Asian trip. The location, the services, the cleaniliness, the attention, all were great. The hotel is on a renovated old building with exquisite details and curated decoration elements. Everything is clean. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are big enough to have your small backpack in it. There’s a curtain for privacy and it wasn’t crowded. The other guest were very mindful of others. This hotel is relatively new, they opened in Nov 2025 so, it’s still getting known in the travel world. You can use the kitchen that has all the implements to cook, store items in the fridge and prepare a breakfast with ingredients that the hotel provides… free, great breakfast! If you need a towel they give you one at no charge… for now. The location is great. You can walk to the old town of the city and Concubine ln. It’s a really nice walk. That part of the city saw a past splendor and the buildings show it. There are several restaurants around, even some fast food. Two things I would review if I was the owner… I waited for an hr before getting my room while other people got settled immediately. My dorm only had 2 ppl in it, the room was ready when I got there. If you have a bed available, just give away even when there’s no the time. It means a lot to the guest that in general has been traveling long hrs, especially if it’s a small place with not many people. The other thing is to teach us (ignorant westerners), how to use the electric shower heater. I couldn’t make it work because I couldn’t find the on/off button. A small sign could have solved my and others’ frustrations. The owners are doing an excellent job at the hotel. I’m planning to come back so I’ll be a guest again at the Brownstone.

Me and my cousin had a pleasant stay here. The receptionist is very friendly and kind, she recommended us the famous local food (hainan chicken rice) and addressed any of our questions. Though the hotel and room interior is a bit old, but it’s clean & the bathroom is spacious, i think they just renovated it. The hotel is strategic and walking distance to Gerbang Malam.

I love the interior and the colour .So clean and nice. Lovely.close to town area. The gym dont have air condition but using fans .Pool was good. .Easy to access

We extended our stay, very spacious unit, very clean, excellent location. My children likes the place, very quiet for them to relax and just chill out. Will stay again when we visit next time.

We travelled in a group of 3 female friends. I have to say I booked this place due to its industrial themed rooms. It's definitely nostalgic and rustic but the cleanliness is still very much up to standard. We even had a balcony and managed to catch a glimpse of fireworks in a distance. In the morning, we caught the sunrise as well. It's beautiful. The location is best! 👍🏼 it's just next to the famous Thean Chun Coffeeshop, where you get to eat shredded chicken noodles, popiah, asam laksa, Satay, char kway teow. Will definitely recommend this place to others. The only one thing is u will need a little patience when it comes to service. The staff left us standing aimlessly where she went up to the room.

Check in & out process easy & smooth. Staffs were friendly. Cleanliness of room & toilet could be improved. Like no cleaning done before next customer check in. On/ off toggle for water heater was broken. Otherwise, could be a very good budget hotel.

Zatrzymałam się w pokoju rodzinnym z pięcioma osobami, czyli ze mną, mężem i trójką dzieci. Pokój nie był zbyt przestronny, ale dla mnie był w porządku… było trochę miejsca na modlitwę. Pokój z dwoma przestronnymi łóżkami dwuosobowymi był bardzo wygodny. Łazienka była w porządku. Telewizor z podstawowymi kanałami MYTV. Hotel znajdował się naprzeciwko centrum handlowego AEON, więc było bardzo wygodnie. Brak windy, więc nie ma garnituru, jeśli są tam seniorzy. W pokoju nie było czajnika, ale hotel zapewniał filtr do wody na zewnątrz pokoju na każdym piętrze. Zestaw do prasowania znajdował się na pierwszym piętrze. Ogólnie było w porządku, szybkie zameldowanie. Przygotuj 100 RM na depozyt. Nie można wymeldować się później niż o 12:00. Zameldowanie o 14:00. Dziękuję.

The location is strategic just near Ipoh Night Market, Aeon & McD , but the cleanliness not satisfied and the tv channel is limited but is quite good especially the staff was so friendly 👍🏻

The room is big to mingle around, water pressure is good, the bed also comfy except no elevator. Not bad after all. Recommended to family stay.
