The Tabor House was constructed around 1895 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  It has all the charm of a Victorian style home with modern amenities and located just two short blocks from downtown Wallace, Idaho.Although the home is not ADA compliant, there are only three short steps to enter the front of the home with a main floor bedroom. The second and third floors are accessible by stairways.THE MAIN FLOOR-has 1 bedroom with a king-sized bed and 37" flat screen TV with Roku. A USB rapid charger is located on the wall facing the backyard. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace with remote, a 50" flat screen with Roku and Netflix, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, games, puzzles and a book exchange. A Wii game console is located next to the DVD for family gaming. A Shuffleboard table is now located in the dining room. A CD Jukebox with free play is located in the living room.There is a spacious and well supplied eat in kitchen with microwave, glass top range, dishwasher, and full size fridge/freezer with ice maker. There is a large formal dining room, full bath, washer, dryer and gas BBQ (located on the backyard patio area).  Just inside the back door entrance is a mud room to put your skis and boots. There is also a radio flyer wagon to pull the kids around town or to get groceries as well as bikes to ride. There is ample parking on the street. Additional covered parking for your motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles, vehicle, etc. can be found at the rear of the residence.We hope you will enjoy the beautiful front porch (our personal favorite).  Wave to the visitors on the trolley as it goes by or if you are lucky, watch the elk or moose traipse through town. THE SECOND FLOOR-offers 3 more bedrooms and a full bathroom.  Two rooms have queen-sized beds and one room has a double/full.  There are flat screen TVs (32") in all the bedrooms also with  Roku, and lots of closet space. These rooms also have USB rapid chargers located along the wall which are labeled for identification. THE THIRD FLOOR-Or attic has recently been finished with new carpet, drywall, paint, windows. Because we are big on safety, we installed emergency exit (egress) windows.There is also an emergency escape ladder located in a silver plastic storage container in the room. We like to think of this floor as great for the youth in your group as it has 4 single beds in private alcoves (thanks to the gabled ceiling), a bubble hockey machine, 32" flat screen with Roku, and a classic Nintendo console (remember those?) with games for their enjoyment.   This of course does not mean that adults would not find this area fun also!There are five security cameras located at the front, rear and side of the residence. The cameras are live and recording.We accept pets up to 50lbs with a limit of 2 furry family members. There is a one-time fee of $25.00. Bikers can choose between the Route of the Hiawatha, riding lift-accessed trails at the ski resorts, and/or exploring the Trail of the Couer d’Alenes.The ground level was once Harwoods Drug Store, in fact you can still see and feel the bow in the floor where the clerk used to stand behind the cash register. It is now a massive great room with fourteen-foot ceilings with full-height windows that parallel the street front and adjacent park. The room is illuminated with string lights that hang from the original Mullan Fire Departments extension ladder and the floor is clad with 100-year-old native hardwood. The result is a breathtaking room where friends and family can comfortably enjoy quality time with one another. Positioned near the entry area, guests can make use of a variety gear storage, shelving and hangers.Beyond the entry, a large dining table and a cozy living area is positioned around a 70” curved television. Opposite the dining area sits a full bathroom with a washer and dryer. Above the bathroom there is a loft area with 50" smart TV and futon - perfect for kids! The fully-stocked kitchen sits adjacent to the dinning area and features a sleek island/breakfast bar with seats for four. Past the kitchen, guests can enjoy the ping pong table and a four-player arcade cabinet which is sure to keep the kids entertained! Seating along the windows provides a great atmosphere for board games, puzzles, and a morning coffee.The second level of the unit is the sleeping quarters. Atop the stairs, guests will find more gear storage and access to a full bathroom. Enter the hall to find a bunk room with four high-end twin beds on the left and a junior master with a king bed (attached to the full bath) on the right. Continue down the hall and two more king bedrooms are revealed. At the end of the hall a den area with a thick comfortable futon, a dedicated work space and a gas fireplace that provides a warm comfortable setting to wind down after the day.There are 4 smart TV's in the building. All have FREE Netflix and you're welcome to sign into your own streaming services. There is no cable or satellite. The living room has a 70" curved Smart TV. The loft has a 50" Smart TV. The upstairs living room has a 50" Smart TV. The backyard offers views of the mountains and space for grilling and dining al fresco. Mullan ID is a small, quiet mining town, with a local pub, The Outlaw Bar and Grill, bowling alley, and indoor swimming pool. For more options, nearby Wallace offers a grocery store, boutique shops, and restaurants/bars.Located in the center of town, Ursa Miner is small but bright and charming! This home is over 100 years old, has undergone some restoration but may show some of its age. Ten-foot high ceilings and an open living room-dining room layout make this cozy, older home feel spacious. The front living room gets tons of natural light. The back sunporch/coffee nook has views of the mountains. The entryway to the front door and covered back porch allow guests to easily come in and out of the weather. The property is located on a main road in town, but this is a one-stop light town! Street noise is minimal during the day and quiet at night.Two bedrooms are on the main level and additional twin beds are in the upstairs loft. The loft has a lower ceiling, which makes it ideal for younger guests. Beds offer supportive mattresses, layers of quilts (depending on the season), high quality sheets, and poly-down pillows; extra blankets and pillows are available.The main level bathroom has a claw-footed tub/shower, toilet and sink. The original medicine cabinet has a unique feature - a razor blade disposal slot. We kindly request that guests not use it for disposal of anything :) Shampoo, body wash, basic first aid supplies, and towels are providedFree wi-fi is available throughout the house. A smart speaker and device charging station is centrally located in the dining room. Smart TV in the main living room, as well as upstairs, allows for guests to spend time relaxing and spread out, if desired. Roku is setup for guests to use their own accounts for streaming services, or access many free options. The living room TV also has a DVR player. Board and card games and videos are available for guest enjoyment.The well-equipped kitchen includes a double-oven and convection cooktop, full sized fridge, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans, baking and serving dishes, cooking utensils, cups/glasses and table settings for +6 guests. A small dishwasher with hookups to the sink make clean up a breeze. A supply of coffee and filters, some cooking oil, salt/pepper/spices/herbs is provided for guests. Supplies for tidying up are stocked: paper towels, multi-purpose cleaner, dish soap, hand soap, and dishwasher tablets.Guests have use of the entire house, the yard, grill (available seasonally), and a small, locked storage shed. Guests may park in the gravel driveway at the back of the house or on the side street. The small bridge near the house, which crosses the South Fork of the Coeur D'Alene River, is currently closed to vehicle traffic. It is open to pedestrians and bikes.Ursa Miner is a one-hundred year old home. It was restored around 2016, after sitting vacant for many years. Our hope is to be good stewards, to maintain and update the structure as needed, and share its historic charm and ideal location with others for years to come. It has some quirks, like a slight slant in the floor and an air vent in the ceiling between the dining room and loft. The house is heated through an air vent in the dining room floor; this vent may be hot to the touch when the furnace is running. Parents with infants/toddlers are advised to be cautious; please supervise children at all times. The house has no closets other than one small space in the upstairs bedroom/loft. Guests should feel free to unpack luggage and store clothing in the bedroom dressers. The kitchen floor can be chilly during frigid weather; a basket of house slippers/socks is near the front door. Guests are welcome to wear these in the house and leave with the used linens/towels prior to check-out.Locally, the nearby Mullan Trail Gas & Grocery has essentials and grocery items. Check their FB page for local happenings, like trail grooming updates, weather notices (avalanche warning), and community events. Harvest Foods in Wallace is well-stocked with whatever you need: fresh produce, meats, convenience foods/snacks, specialty items (gluten free), beer/cider/wine/liquor, and a small pharmacy (find your huckleberry treats here!).We want Ursa Miner to be your comfortable, home away from home.
