„Disappointing Stay for a Special Occasion – Expected More from a 5-Star Hotel Stayed 4 nights with my daughter for her surprise birthday staycation. Upgraded to a Harbour Bridge View room on Level 23 ($715/night), but the view was mostly of a vacant construction site – very underwhelming for the price. Noisy interconnecting room and loud sports cars between 12–2am made it hard to sleep. Breakfast ($65pp) was below expectations – dried sausages and barely cooked bacon, though staff were lovely. Room service on our last night took nearly an hour – ordered at 7:38pm, food arrived at 8:30pm. As a solo mum, this was a trip we had saved up for a long time and wanted it to be truly special, but we were left feeling disappointed. Expected more from a 5-star hotel. The positive highlights of our stay was the lovely big bath and high-quality shower amenities, which added a touch of luxury. Fantastic location and beautiful walk along the waterfront!! For the price we paid, the view fell far short of what you'd expect from a luxury hotel. In hindsight, the lower rate Deluxe King Room overlooking the water would have been a much better choice!  -”

„Having had the opportunity of staying at a few other four seasons around the world and the sydney branch felt abit lacking. Service was straightforward at best. Shower screen had gaps where water leaked to the floor during a shower but was informed it always has been.”

„This was one of the best experiences we have had in Australia. We finally found a resort that values its customers and provides what you expect from a five star luxury hotel. Vivien from the front office was amazing, upgrading our room and making my birthday unforgettable. Thank you and keep up the fantastic work.”

„The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily. For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful. Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too. The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. And this was the only down side I can think of, other than that, I had a perfect stay!”

„My first review on Trip and I don't usually bother to write reviews - shows you how much the hotel impressed me. We stayed for 1 night in Capella Sydney as a family of 3. The hotel facilities were absolutely amazing, decor was gorgeous and food options at Aperture and Brasserie were awesome. However, I won't dwell on these too much as I'm sure when you booked into a Capella brand hotel, you will already assume this as a given right? One highlight in terms of facilities though, was The Living Room, which is assessible to all guests staying in the hotel. It had beverages, snacks, comfy sofas and 6 star service. We spent so much time there chilling with our son and in the end it really became ”our living room”. Enough of that, let me move on to the service which blew our minds. I'll give you a few examples and hopefully you can see why I feel it would be criminal for me not to write a review. 1. On arrival when we got out of our car and the porters were helping us with our luggage, somehow they addressed me by name. Maybe it's because they saw I had a 2 year old and I was the only guest checking in that day with a small child. Still, I was super impressed. I've only experienced this previously at Aman hotels. 2. Upon checking in, Sophie (I hope I got your name right!) was super helpful and cheerful. When she saw my young son, she also proactively asked if we needed a later check out and if our son needed to nap. She immediately offered to give us 2pm late check out. However, having told her our son actually takes his nap at 2pm, she told us to come back and check with the front desk the next day and they can extend it till 4pm. Remember, I didn't request this, she did this completely out of her own initiative. 3. We didn't book dinner and Sophie referred us to Madiha of the Cultural team. Madiha took note of all our requirements, including the need for the restaurant to be 2 year old friendly, and within 15 mins emailed me a full list of restaurants and their menus for me to choose from while she also served us drinks and snacks at the living room. We eventually picked an Italian restaurant and she made the reservation for us. Fyi, it was scrumptious. 4. After breakfast, we were walking around the lobby and my son walked past the cakeshop and saw a raspberry tart. He really wanted it but I told him we just had breakfast. Ton (?)(I hope I got your name right, the Thai gentleman with a love for cars), the manager came up and said ”you can have the tart for free! It's on the house!”. I was stunned. He also spent so much time talking to my son and showing him pictures of cars, unbelievable. Shout out also to Matthew (uncle Hao Jun) for being so warm and hospitable to us. Honestly we were feeling so sad leaving the hotel as everyone felt like friends and family to us. One thing is for sure though, we will be back. Absolutely flawless service, kudos to the Capella Sydney team!”

„Pokój jest dość przestronny jak na Sydney, z oknami sięgającymi od podłogi do sufitu w narożnikach, z których roztacza się widok na zatokę Darling Harbour i hotel W – krajobraz jest oszałamiający. W dniu zameldowania dostaliśmy nawet bezpłatną butelkę czerwonego wina. Osobiście uważam, że hotel oferuje lepszy stosunek jakości do ceny niż większy hotel W obok. Wielokrotnie zatrzymywałem się w hotelu W, ale pokoje nie są tam tak przestronne.”

„Conveniently located in the heart of the CBD, near Circular Quay, it was easy to access the key attractions like the Sydney Opera House. The rooftop bar, Aster, also provided fantastic views of the Harbour Bridge. The main draw of this hotel for us was its own indoor carpark as we were renting a car. Valet parking is $89 AUD a night (as of Aug 2025) and there is no option to self-park, but you can enter and exit the carpark as many times as you want. Pricey but generally consistent with the other carpark options in this area. Our room size was pretty big for 2 persons and the room was generally well maintained. We encountered some issues with inconsistent housekeeping e.g. used cups not being replaced, towels not being replaced, but they were generally minor and often quickly rectified after a call to reception. Would recommend if you would like to stay in this part of Sydney.”

„My child got some rash on his body after sleeping on bed. Breakfast was charged extra. The staff said would whatsapp me, but No follow up after reflecting breakfast extra charges. Better check bills before leaving.”
