Amazing hospitality especially by the villa concierge Chan. The Banyan Tree team also provided many unique touchpoints that distinguish them from other hotels. For example, at check in, we were given a lotus flower and learnt how to fold the lotus petals. When we reached the villa, we were guided by Chan to release the lotus flower in the pool, symbolizing releasing bad karma and inviting positivity into our lives. Throughout the stay, there were various essential oils and pillow styles available to choose from. Guest services were also happy to comply with requests for ice, and any other additional requests we had, such as turn down services conducted at a later or earlier time, according to our itinerary. At checkout, we were also presented with a farewell drink, and a small token to remember our stay at the Banyan Tree Samui. In totality, this stay exceeded all our expectations and we look forward to returning in future.

Although early check-in wasn’t available when we arrived, the hotel’s app made all the difference. Through the app, we could explore the resort, make requests, and track our room status. Eventually, we received a notification that our room was ready—such a convenient system! The room itself? Immaculate! Spotless and thoughtfully designed with a massive bed, a sparkling clean shower area, a cozy separate seating space, and an automated toilet that lifts the cover for you. No-touch toilet seat? That’s a huge bonus! We were also greeted with a delightful welcome basket in the room, packed with special drinks, snacks, and even a handwritten postcard by the General Manager. It was such a warm and personal touch—it’s hard not to fall in love with the place instantly. We did try the spa, and while it’s on the pricier side, the service and facilities were absolutely worth every penny—top-notch from start to finish. Cabanas, the beach club at Marasca, is another highlight. Ultra-chilled vibes, beautifully designed with lush greenery, comfy furniture, and a view that opens right up to Chaweng Beach. It was the perfect place to unwind. Breakfast? Impressive. A great mix of Western and Asian dishes, plus a healthy spread of salads, pastries, yogurt, juices, and smoothies. The little touches like free healthy shots in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon truly made our stay even more enjoyable! Marasca also offers daily activities for guests, so you’ll never run out of things to do. To sum it all up: this is, hands down, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Huge shoutout to the amazing team—Mo, Tony, Ja, Chet, Jenny, Puppup, Andy, Pui, Golf, and the rest whose names I can’t recall. Your teamwork and hospitality were unforgettable. The hotel facilities are pretty good, and the rooms are standard. Breakfast offers a wide variety. However, the executive lounge's light meals and drinks are inferior in variety and quality compared to the Hyatt Bali. The biggest drawback of this hotel is the beach. It's not fine sand but rather a mix of pebbles and rocks. Firstly, it's almost impossible to walk barefoot on the beach, and secondly, swimming isn't an option. This hotel is not suitable for families who enjoy playing on sandy beaches or need to swim in the sea.

The resort I itself was good and full of amenities and well located as its quiet but close to many places as well, however the service was lacking as there was barely any attention paid to guests. We had figure things out ourselves as well as call out multiple times before we had help
