Highly recommended. Just a lovely comfortable house in a great location. Everything you would need. Excellent breakfast. Staff are super and Fiona was wonderful . Will definitely stay again. Safe parking . Good coffee . Lovely touches. Altogether a pleasure to stay there

Perfect accommodation - beautiful rooms and gorgeous pool and gardens The owner Fiona was super welcoming and flexible we had a foul up with the online booking agent and our booking got cancelled the night before - but Fiona was happy to honour it and allowed us to not only check in early and use the pool but also to use the facilities after we had checked out which was really appreciated as we had an evening flight It’s a lovely spot a 20 min walk into town I would recommend making restaurant bookings well in advance and try the hop on hop off wine bus - it was great fun

Beautiful guest house in great location for visiting town of stellenbosch and vineyards . Lovely rooms and grounds with swimming pool and courtesy bicycles. The owner Fiona was very helpful and even sourced kefir for me for breakfast . Beautifully prepared breakfasts

We returned to Summerwood for a second time and we now want to book again, and again for future trips. Everything from the lovely rooms, the superb pool and luxuriant gardens with plenty of sun beds made for a wonderfully relaxing base from which to visit the local area. Fiona, the owner,and her small team work incredibly hard and she has a great eye for detail. The breakfasts are all made to order with loads of options. The lounge, next to the pool, has coffee and tea making facilities with a few sweet goodies each day. We will be back!!

This is just a good honest guest house located around twenty minutes walk from the centre of town. Can’t complain about anything. The room, swimming pool and breakfast were all as expected. Small touches like fresh milk in the mini bar fridge was greatly appreciated. We couldn’t help but fall in love with Fiona. She is a great host.

This is just the dreamiest little hidden gem in Stellenbosch and we are simply head over heels for this place. It is our third time visiting the Summerwood - which should say enough already but I am happy to share more (also you can refer to our last visit in Jan2020 and yes, it is just as good if not better!) The guesthouse is situated in a very nice neighbourhood approx. 1.3km from the center of Stellenbosch. It is a nice little 15-20min walk and we really did enjoy to „escape“ the buzziness of the center and get to a calmer area. If we recount correctly they have 8 guest rooms, so not too many, which too is a great plus for coziness and privacy. The garden is very pretty and relaxing, having sun until approx. 6pm during high summer time and a nice sized pool for a refresher. The rooms are just as beautiful as you can see on the pictures and you feel at home and relaxed immediately! Each room has its own charme and we sure do have our most favourite :-) (I am sorry, not going to share this one)y Breakfast is served all fresh and simply is heaven (think toasted fresh sourdough bread with avocado and egg/salmon etc., or great granola topped with fresh fruits) ! Service wise let me just say this: head over heels 1000 times! The owner Paulette and Fiona are angels on earth with the best recommendations, especially when it comes to food places and wine estates to visit - so don’t be shy and ask them :-) But generally speaking the team at Summerwood consists of 100% sweet, lovely people that really made our time special. So thanks again, dear Summerwood, it has been a real pleasure and we will see each other again rather sooner than later ＜3

Summerwood is a fabulous guesthouse. Fiona and Paulette are the best hosts - so friendly and helpful with lots of advice on where to go and what to do in Stellenbosch. Our room was at the top of the house with marvellous views of the mountains and the surrounding trees - it was like sleeping in the most comfortable tree house! The breakfast is fantastic - Fiona's granola has to be the best in South Africa. The gardens were beautifully maintained and it was great to have the lovely swimming pool to swim in every day. Summerwood is in a great location and you can walk to the town centre in 15 minutes. If you don't want to walk, they also have bikes. We really enjoyed our stay in Summerwood.

From the beginning, with prompt responses from Fiona to our little gift upon departure, this guest house exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival, Fiona us ever present to chat or provide information about the area. There are 3 rooms on the ground floor (no elevator), rooms 4 to 7 on the next floor and room 8 on the top floor. Even the smallest rooms (5 and 7) are a good size complete with safe, hair dryer, tub and shower, coffee/tea maker, and quality bath products and linens. Breakfast is a whole new level of delicious. Several options made to order and each a treat. The pool is welcoming on hot days, there is a grocery store about a 15 minute walk from the guest house (turn right as you exit) and Stellenbosch town is about a 20 minute walk or bicycle ride (bikes provided) away. The attention to detail at Summerwood is what raises it above other properties.

Superb guest house. Very clean and with more amenities than you get in most 5* hotels. Fiona is a welcoming and helpful host, all the staff are friendly. Freshly cooked breakfast with a good choice. Beautifully appointed rooms. Lovely gardens and pool area, especially loved the two pet rabbits who live in the garden. Easy to walk into the town in the day and we got Ubers both ways at night. All in all a fantastic three nights to start our holiday and would not hesitate to return.
