Hotel Italie et Suisse

Staff was fantastic! Close to train station. Room and breakfast was really nice. I’d go back here.

Lovely hotel with a Fantastic location. Beautiful views from balcony. Although dated decor the rooms were very Comfortable & clean with fluffy towels and lovely sheets. Perfect base for a trip to the lakes. More like a B&B than hotel as No bar or restaurant but so many all around.

Do. Not. Go. Here. Booked this hotel thinking it was a simple clean hotel with a nice view of the lake. - It REAKS of perfume everywhere. I have no idea why, but it gave us both a headache. - Rooms are extremely cramped. We could only open one suitcase at a time.. - The bed is covered with a disgusting old blanket. There were hairs in the bed. - The service. The staff does not seem to care about you, or show any interest in how to make your stay pleasant. - There is a balcony (we payed extra to get one), but is is tiny and is furnished with a couple of dirty old plastic chairs. Again, do not go here. I mean, just take a look at the picture of the computer from the eighties. Nothing else has changed either. (I forgot, the breakfast is also terrible..)

This hotel is not a good place to stay if you want freedom on your holiday. I like to start my day early for a jog or walk at 5am with the sunrise. However, when I did try to leave the hotel the front was locked. I asked the manager why it was locked. His response was: The front door is locked till 7am and you cannot leave before. If I do want to leave, I could ring the bell and wait for someone to open the door. However, I wouldn't be allowed back in till 7am". I asked for a key, but he said they only have 1 key. Absolutely ridiculous. This was more like a prison than a hotel. Plus the door closes at 1am, so if you want to stay out late you can't get back in. I was very, very restricted and quite annoyed at the attitude of the manager. It dampened my stay there. I was also disappointed with the room. When booking this hotel, all the photos of the double room are advertised showing lake view. It was very deceiving. The balcony backed onto another hotel of which you could see into their rooms. The lake view was at the corner of my eye. Nothing like the photo. The room was tired and plain. No fridge, which when staying somewhere hot is important. If you want a quiet stay, this hotel is NOT the place. It is on the main road and in the town. But I knew this would be the case, so I wasn't surprised by this. The breakfast is not great. No eggs, no tomatoes, no cucumber, no cut bread or toast. The best thing was the power shower.

This hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Stresa and ideal for visiting the lake as the boat dock is just across the road. Clean and comfortable with a lovely breakfast and very pleasant hosts.

It all started with a great first impression. The reservation request and subsequent questions were answered timely and in a very friendly manner. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and his wife and check in was hassle free and quick. The owners were omni present and always helpful and friendly with advise. The rooms we had a standards room and a de luxe lakeview rooms wer perfecly clean and well furnished. However a mini bar or a fridge would have made a nice addition. The furnishings were basic but prefectly fine for the price paid. The value proposition was excellent.Free parking was available about 300 meter up the road if you could get one. Opposite the hotel is the Lago Maggiore boat terminal and lot of public parking available. At the hotel you can buy a 24 hour parking ticket for 10.00 Euro actually a very cost effective and convenient way to park. The hotel offered a very good breakfast buffet style but due to Covid you were served and could not take the food yourself. Service was always very friendly and nice.# The quality of the Coffee could have been improved at breakfast but now I am complaing at a very high level. We were super happy and will return to this hotel based upon the a) friendly owners b) great location c) excellent cleanliness and finally d) excellent price.

Hôtel très bien placé, en face du débarcadère, de la promenade le long du lac et de la vieille ville, tout peut donc être fait à pieds. Pas de parking mais aucun problème pour se garer (même gratuitement). Hôtel très bien tenu, très très propre. Chambre spacieuse avec vue lac et vieille ville. Un petit déjeuner complet (compris dans le prix) et régulièrement approvisionné, on peut donc déjeuner même tard. Des hôtes très professionnels, accueillants, disponibles tout en étant discrets. Ils font l'effort de parler français, sont de très bons conseils, n'hésitez pas à les contacter directement.

L'"Italie et Suisse" é un albergo ottimo sotto tutti i punti di vista! La struttura, dotata di camere sobrie ma accoglienti e particolarmente curata anche sotto il profilo della pulizia, é gestita dai proprietari con gentilezza e professionalità, qualità queste riscontrate anche nel personale dipendente sempre cortese e disponibile. I proprietari, Sig. Simone e gentile consorte, si sono dimostrati simpaticamente attivi nel venire incontro alle nostre richieste e prodighi di consigli, soddisfacendo al meglio ogni nostra necessità loro rappresentata e rendendo così oltremodo gradevole il nostro soggiorno a Stresa dal 25 al 28 aprile 2024. L'albergo offre anche un'ottima prima colazione, generosa e apprezzabile per la varietà e genuinità dei prodotti. In sintesi, l'"Italie et Suisse" é una "location" sicuramente da preferire anche per la particolare vicinanza all'imbarcadero per visitare le splendide Isole Borromee e le altre città rivierasche del lago Maggiore.
