Staff is pleasant, but definitely way easier to communicate in mandarin than English.
We requested for vegan options during our stay when booking - the hotel replied they will do ensure vegan options for us. However, during our stay, they told us vegan is only what’s available at the spread, and it was very obvious it was not a lot…in short, we figured it out ourselves instead: plain congee + pan fried cabbage, fruits and some salad greens. Hot food/tea break availability are nuts, fruits, salsa, nacho. We were ok with the options but felt a budget hotel had better veg options and our request during booking was simply lip service designed to make us feel like we will have vegan options.
The first night, we could not sleep at all as they turned on the heater. It was really terrible. Windows cannot be opened so we requested for a fan as a last resort at 1am but could not sleep at all due to the warm room. Raising it to concierge in the morning, the staff wanted to send a technician to check our room. But the manager rushed over, and told us instead they turned on central conditioning as a heater at night for guests and there was nothing wrong with the room. They will instead leave a note for the night shift not to turn on heater for our second night and to turn on the aircon instead. We could finally fall asleep as it was slightly cooler. What an odd option for the hotel to make the rooms warmer which really ruined our sleep - in our travels, this is our first time encountering a hotel making the environment warmer.
Plus side: Location of hotel is really good as it’s right in front of the station exit.
