While the location requires an extra step, the hotel shuttles resolve most of it, and taxis are available too at a reasonable price.
Staying here is like living in a palace. A truly special experience.

I was staying in the hotel during the 7.2 magnitude earthquake and want to say a few words about the professionalism of the stuff. It was the first earthquake I’ve experienced in my life and honestly I was panicking. Easily found the emergency exit and went down to the reception with a few other guests who f the hotel. The girls working at the reception (unfortunately I don’t know their names) were absolutely calm, smiling and reassuring, recommended to stay in the hall downstairs for a few minutes and it was very comforting and helpful. Thanks for your support.

We stayed in the Kirin extension of the hotel, which offers a big balcony with a view of Taipei’s night sky. The extension is quieter compared to the main building and has a Family Mart on the ground level, offering a wide selection of delicious microwaveable ready meals. Not keen to eat in brightly lit and busy restaurants, we decided to have a private meal from Family Mart on the balcony with a city view. All in all, it was very enjoyable stay!

A grand and sophisticated hotel. The amenities are a bit old but acceptance. Location is not very convenient. You need to take shuttle bus to get to the subway station.

Great view of Tamsui river and Taipei 101 from the balcony. There are scheduled shuttle buses to and from Yuan Shan metro station.

We travelled as a family and booked this room type for kids. The hotel offers best value in both service and room choices. The location is good. It offers free shuttle bus to the Yuanshan subway station. I will recommend this room type for younger kids since there is no window. The cost of this room type is just a fraction of the suite room.

Secret tip: book a secret tunnel trip with the front counter early
The room weirdly smells like dirty sewage and it emanates from the toilet. Had to use an air freshener for it. Toilet was clean though.
Happy to be back again.
