Green Hotel

This is such a wonderful and very picturesque place. Staff is friendly and it just adds to the atmosphere that they wear beautiful traditional costumes. We had a vegetarian dinner there and the food was amazing and service great. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I used the pool and sauna and found it very cozy.

We had booked two nights at this hotel but only stayed for one. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Siljan and surrounded by a charming old building. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. After upgrading to a room with a large terrace and spectacular views, we were initially very pleased. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by unbearable heat. The room, lacking air conditioning and a refrigerator, reached temperatures of up to 36 degrees Celsius, making it impossible to sleep. Attempting to cool the room by opening the balcony door resulted in an influx of mosquitoes and flies. Despite the hotel providing a fan, it was still impossible to stay comfortable. When we informed the reception why we were leaving a day early, they acknowledged that they were aware of previous complaints about the heat. This left us feeling that it should have been disclosed or addressed beforehand. Furthermore, the restaurant experience was disappointing. The breakfast was very poor, and there were limited options for lunch and dinner. Due to the heat issues, the lack of effective measures, and the disappointing restaurant experience, we decided to leave the day after instead of staying for the second night. Despite the hotel’s wonderful environment and service, these issues significantly impacted our stay. While it may be a dream destination for those who can tolerate heat well and have low dining expectations, unfortunately, we couldn’t stay longer than one night.

Back home after a few magical days at the Green hotel. The view over lake Siljan beats everything. I never get tired of following lake Siljan's changes during the day and night. The food is prepared with a lot of love and care and with beautiful arrangements. The hotel's breakfast buffet has everything I could wish for. From freshly squeezed juice, to REAL scrambled eggs and homemade liver pate and divine bread. Thank you to all the staff for a very nice and comfortable stay!

Great service, food, drink, and environment! A forgotten “welcome basket” was sorted out in a great way, and I can’t think of anything negative to say. Even the art on the walls was nice, and the excellent food bears mentioning again!

I stayed in this hotel many years ago and I was excited to stay again. I can honestly say that you keep the same high standards that you have always offered. Thanks for an amazing staying and great food.

Family owned hotel with lots of local charm. The reception area with its fireplace is a nice place to sit. Choose a room with a fire place, with a view in the main building or maybe a tiny little cottage (härbre) outside. The menu is traditional with a slight twist, the staff is young and kind, some are in training. There is a pool indoors and there is a hot tub outside. Lots of local handicraft in nearby village. Enjoy this hotel!
