The Burrow Guest House

Przybyłem wcześnie rowerem na promie. Na miejsce dotarliśmy wcześniej, a córka właściciela pozwoliła nam zostawić sakwy i zameldować się później. Wróciliśmy później i recepcjonista nas zameldował i pokazał, gdzie możemy przechowywać nasze rowery. Wszystko wydawało się dobre. Pokój był wygodny, a odbiór Wi-Fi był dobry. Później tego samego wieczoru urzędnik wrócił i powiedział, że w wyniku błędu pisarskiego przydzielono nam niewłaściwy pokój i poprosił o przeniesienie. Coś się dzieje, więc się przeprowadziliśmy. Nowy pokój nie miał okna na zewnątrz i śmierdział pleśnią i pleśnią. A gdzie było Wi-Fi? Sprzedawca przeprosił i powiedział, że próbują rozwiązać problem, ale stanie się to dopiero po naszym wyjściu. Nawet regularne usługi były sporadyczne – w najlepszym razie. Mam kilku klientów, z którymi muszę się skontaktować. Następnego dnia urzędnik powiedział, że właściciel powiedział mu, że rowery należy przenieść przed hotel i przykuć łańcuchami do płotu. Naprawdę? Jego córka widziała rowery. Żadnego komentarza z jej strony. I brak bezpośredniej komunikacji ze strony właściciela! Żadnych przeprosin i uzasadnień. Po prostu narzekam na urzędnika. Moja rada – szukaj gdzie indziej.

Beautiful guest house, excellent accommodation. Stunning interiors with everything you could need..the rooms were cleaned and beds remade daily. Our hosts Chiara and Phoebe couldn't do enough for us, even going the extra mile and booking our ferry to Sicily. Would definitely recommend!

The location is strategically placed between the airport and Valletta, essentially there is NO easy street parking available. I relied on the bus, routes from Valletta serving the area include No. 81, 82, 84 & 88 journey time 20-25 minutes approximately every 15-20 minutes. A 5-10 minute walk from the respective bus stop. Check-in was welcoming, I was allocated Room 4, a single double bed with ensuite bathroom, each presented to a high cleaning standard. There was NO TV but the Wifi was good. The bed was comfortable. Also for an extra €15 a contential breakfast was offered. Definitely stay again.

Shower is very tight and maid forgot to bring new set of towels the following day. Complimentary bottled water would have been nice too. Otherwise, it was a very nice inn conveniently located to a bus stop. Would stay again.

The front door arrangement was paranoid and inconvenient in the extreme but the guesthouse once you managed to get in, was darling.

Worst experience ever. I have slept in many places and usually know what to expect. At the burrow guest house was maybe the first time I had such a bad experience in general in the hospitality industry. Definitely the owners dont know the word hospitality. The room had several issues like toilet was dirty, broken shower door and water tap, no pressure in the water, broken door handle. But I said with my fiance that we are on holidays so lets let it go. The main issue was the bed which had a curve in the middle and even for that we did not want to make a fuss. But in the middle of the night the bed collapsed. Waste of money and time. We weren’t even offered an apology. Definitely NOT VALUE FOR MONEY, very bad communication with the OWNER. Wouldn’t recommend!

The Burrow Guest House is a nice and cozy little B&B that will fill your basic needs. 
- How to get there? -
The Burrow Guest House is easily reachable by car, taxi, and by bus from several stops near the center of Paola (many busses stop here). In the vicinity busses 81, 82, 84, 88 and 206 stop. All within a 10 min walk. Also the airport is located quite close only a 7-10 min drive. 
- First Impression -

The B&B lays in a street that doesn’t look too good, but ignoring that, the B&B is a pearl in the street. It can’t be missed and has a nice atmosphere with some flowers and plants outside. It was a bit hard to know how to get inside but a telephone number is provided by the note near the door which you can call so the door will be opened. NOTE: Check-in time is only from 16:00 hours, which I personally find quite late. You have to wait inside whatever time you arrive until 16:00 hours before you can check-in since there is no receptionist on the spot. The waiting area is though really lovely. A lot of chairs, plants, and a warm cozy feeling. There is a vending machine, but disappointingly the thing is quite out dated with only accepting coins. The nearest ATM is at a 20 min walk. Would recommend to bring in a modern one with contactless payment. However there is a lot of choice from the vending, including cornflakes, an adapter, biscuits, candy, drinks, croissants etc. There are cups and I guess a coffee machine? But no water. So I didn’t really understand the meaning of them. What I did notice was the B&B been maintained really well. The B&B is situated in an old building which feels like a little castle with its iconic brickwork and little stairs. The only scary thing are the glass walkways throughout the building. You have to cross them. I was afraid they would break, because sometimes stepping on them too hard made them sound crackling, even they (hopefully) are made strong. They are white tinted glass. - Reception/check-in - Check-in went okay, the young receptionist was very friendly and did incredibly his best. At first the keys to my room were lost so it took a while before they were found. The receptionist escorted me too the room which was appreciated. 
- Room - Getting to the room is like going through a little maze. But after a few attempts you will find it. Room 5 was a cozy room with a king size bed, a fridge, closet, tables, little balcony, separate bathroom with shower. I was disappointed that this was not the room I had booked, because the one I had booked had a bathtub. But since there had been a change (which would have been nice to have been told me before hand) I was happy with the room provided and didn’t want to make a too big fuss about it. It filled my needs. Really nice was the airconditioning! Very modern, with remote to scroll through all the hundreds of possible settings. The bed was quite hard and wasn’t that comfortable, but many pillows were provided which made it a bit more comfy. Sadly the lights next to
