Black Beach Guesthouse

Fantastic strategic location very close to the Keflavik airport (and the new volcano) and perfect to start a route through the south of Iceland. In the small fishing village of Þorlákshöfn there is practically nothing, a supermarket and a couple of restaurants. Being so far away from any sources of light pollution, it is a perfect place to see the Northern Lights. I personally recommend going to the beach, to a restaurant called Hafið Bláa, there I saw the best auroras I've ever seen in my life! The room is spacious and comfortable, practically new and decorated very cute. The wifi works well, and the instructions to access are easy (no contact with anyone). You can park your car at the same door.

Our room at Black Beach Guesthouse was modern and had everything we needed (even a small fridge), even though it was a bit small (and we even got the larger room). The bathroom was a bit small too but it was clean nevertheless. The only downside was the rather big step you had to make to get in and out of the shower. The guesthouse does not have any stuff you get in and out of the building using lock pads. This is the same for the rooms too. There is parking right in front of the building. However, there was no lift and we had to carry our bags from the stairs and through some heavy doors. The location is ok. There weren't many things in the area but the guesthouse is in close proximity to other towns like Selfoss.

Penso uno dei migliori dove siamo stati durante la nostra Ring Road. Pulitissimo, spazioso, moderno e con il check in autonomo in modo che si può arrivare quando si vuole. Questa cosa sinceramente a me è piaciuta molto, siamo riusciti a rimanere in giro fino a tardi sfruttando il sole di mezzanotte. Lo consiglio.

Het was voor ons een tussenstop. Er hing een beetje een raar geurtje maar de kamer zelf was prima. Badkamer was ook erg netjes. We hadden een kamer in de hoek van het gebouw en de wind gierde om de kamer heen, was niet echt fijn voor het slapen. Daarnaast was de kamer (vergeleken met onze andere verblijven) vrij licht omdat het naast een tankstation zit. Verder was er in het dorpje geen eetgelegenheid behalve Thais, verder was alles dicht en zouden we 20 km moeten rijden. Overall was de kamer prima.

Bella location, pulita, comoda. Leggermente piccola la stanza, ma molto comodo il check-in con chiave d'accesso. Procuratevi il cibo, perché purtroppo (come in tutta l'Islanda) chiude tutto molto molto presto, e non ci sono locali attrezzati in città, se non un fast food proprio dietro l'alloggio
