The Bridge Hotel

Our daughter booked us to stay overnight on the 25th and 26th December. We booked in much earlier than usual thanks to the manager. The staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was down as continental but we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a full cooked breakfast which was really tasty. Although the building itself is very old it had a lot of character. The room was recently renovated and modern. All in all a very pleasant stay over the Chris**as period thanks to the manager.

Enjoyable Sunday lunch, choice of beef, chicken and pork. Vegetables were perfectly cooked unlike some restaurants when they’re too firm. Very attentive and friendly service, fair prices and free parking. We will happily return in the future!

Friendly welcome and due to room being ready checked in early. Lovely large room, big comfortable bed with good bedding, nice big tv. Bathroom immaculate with toiletries supplied and plenty of hot water and towels. Quiet good nights sleep followed by very good breakfast. All staff and owner friendly, polite and professional. Thankyou very much.

I would of liked to give the hotel a higher rating because the owner is so kind and couldn’t of been more attentive. Easy to park and room had a lovely big TV, downstairs bar and TV was a nice area. The negatives were that we had a very poor sleep because the walls are so thin so you can hear everything from the room next door such as the shower and talking. I do think it’s wrong that we had to pay £5 to park there, I don’t understand why we had to really. The breakfast was nice how you could go and get what you wanted and plenty of choice but unfortunately there were ants crawling across the cheese and grapes as they weren’t covered up.

Our room was great very clean and tidy and quite spacious with the biggest tv in a bedroom I have ever seen. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They do breakfasts but we did stay long enough to try them.

Great little hotel, £80 a night with breakfast. The hotel itself looks nothing on the outside but the inside makes up for it, the chaps who run it are very efficient and friendly and make you feel welcome, the rooms are clean and beds very soft and comfy. Large flat screen Tv which was unexpected but great, there was a large fan in the room because it did get quite warm. Little fridge and tea coffee etc. great location for Santa pod and surrounding areas. Would definately recommend and come back. The breakfast was buffet but quality ingredients and fresh also cereal muffins, yoghurts and fruit with fruit juice

The outside is very tired but the maim problems were inside. The bedding was dirty, no hot water in the bathroom sink, shower dirty, no soap had to use shower gel, toilet very difficult to flush, dirty and seat was hanging off, part filled rum bottle in one of the drawers, fridge not PAT tested and not working, one pillow was just a pillow protector stuffed with lumps of foam, dust and muck behind the radiator, bathroom door hinges were packed out with cardboard, fake plastic badly fitted beams on the ceiling.

The room was quiet and the food was decent but unfortunately the shower did not work which is not acceptable in a business room which cost £103 pn. There was no attempt made to remedy the situation. The outside of the hotel also looks really tired and in need of attention. This is a shame as the hotel could be really good with some tweaks and a good clean

Decided to take a night away, and didn’t want to drive too far from home. Saw The Bridge, and decided to take the punt. What a great idea it turned out to be. As soon as you walk through the door, you’re made to feel completely welcome and comfortable. The foyer is fantastic looking and the bar area is very comfortable. And the room? Wow! I’d have easily paid £100 a night for this. Great decor, and the bed very comfortable. Couple that with the huge tv on the wall and very happy. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the facility welders very good. Breakfast was also excellent, and couldn’t fault it. I have to say, the owner is an incredibly personable and welcoming man, and we are looking forward to staying there again. I don’t give 5 star ratings, but this time, I had too. Thank you so much for a great night away from home.
