Every attention to detail made this a fabulous stay with plenty of rest and recovery. Beautiful rooms in a wonderful setting and excellent location. 5* breakfast. Free parking and lovely reasonably priced bar. John and Jane provided a lovely welcome making it feel home from home. Looking forward to returning soon.

Simply the best hotel ever! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so relaxed and welcome. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the decor is absolutely beautiful. Our room was so comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. John and Jayne were fabulous, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and suggested things to do. Just had a 5 night stay at this hotel for our Ruby Wedding anniversary. What an amazing place. We were made to feel at home straight away with a warm welcome from John and a nice pot of tea and wonderful home made lemon drizzle cake from Jane. The room was very airy with a large bathroom and lovely views over the garden. Breakfast was cooked freshly to order and was delicious, with local produce, extra tea and toast was always offered if you wanted it. The service by John and his team was excellent. Jane arranged for flowers in our room from a local florist which were beautiful. We would highly recommend this hotel and I'm sure we will be staying again. Many thanks to John Jane and team for making our Anniversary extra special.

Review of The Haytor. This was our second year of staying at The Haytor… And again it was an absolute pleasure.. Jane and John were once again incredible hosts.. Room 8 was ours for the week this time .. and what a stunning room that is. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated throughout.. and clean to the highest standard.. The Breakfasts once again was beyond delicious.. Jane is a food genius and John serves them with perfection .. The Haytor is the Perfect place to stay we rate it so highly .. so much so that some of my family are looking to book a stay for next year too and of course we will be back for our third stay. For anyone who needs a beautiful and friendly place to stay with the highest of standards..then this is it. The Haytor is also set in stunning surroundings.. so peaceful and relaxing yet only a few minutes walk to the beautiful Harbour. Thank you Jane and John for another wonderful holiday to remember.. see you next year.. Diane & Gary Xx

John and Jane are wonderful hosts, who warmly welcomed us to their beautiful hotel with tea and cake. The entire house, which immediately felt like a home, is tastefully decorated. We had a lovely room, good bed, clean bathroom, quiet night and a great personalized breakfast.

Enjoyable weekend stay recently. The hotel is in a great location in peaceful surroundings with lovely gardens but just a few minutes walk to bars and restaurants. We received a very warm welcome and John, Jane and their team are lovely. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished inside with a comfortable outside seating area with views towards the harbour, the sunsets were stunning. John really makes sure guests are looked after and breakfast service is exceptional with Jane cooking each breakfast to perfection. I can honestly say the best breakfasts we have had, absolutely delicious. Would have no hesitation in recommending The Haytor to friends & family and look forward to returning in the future. It has taken us many years to find the perfect hotel in Torquay, but the search was over as soon as we had stayed at the Haytor. John & Jane provide a beautiful hotel with all mod cons where cleanliness and breakfasts are second to none, and this is why we keep returning. If you want the best, just book it, and you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful hotel,everything was absolutely spot on. Room was stunning,John and Jane are lovely people and breakfast was cooked to perfection. A birthday treat for my husband and it certainly was. Lovely hosts, beautiful suite and delicious breakfast. A chorus of Happy Birthday and a candle at breakfast made his day. Thank you so much John and Jane for making us so welcome - we will definitely be back.
