I stayed here in september 2022. It was a very poor holiday. The rooms were tiny despite the advertisement in the Radio Times saying, "the ensuite rooms are spacious and have a balcony". The balcony was so small that only one chair could fit on it. The hotel was generally tired and in poor repair with concrete peeling off walls and balcony rail. We were expected to eat cereal in cups or paper cups and the food was left uncovered for the insects! The sunbed arrangement made no sense. Some beds were in the water and you were not allowed to change beds to be near friends even though the beach was fairly empty. The person who controlled the beach was very aggressive. The whole area was poorly organised. We were told that WiFi was avaialble throughout the hotel but I could only access it in the reception area of the middle of the second floor corridor. The Tour manager gave very little information eg times of buses, taxi services, places to see etc. When I arrived I was given the wrong room. I asked to change this and she replied rather aggressively that she had waited up for two extra hours for my group to arrive. The plane was late!. I appreciate that many of the included tours contain a lot of walking, some of it not easy. But for Matera there were options. For example, a shuttle bus, a taxi or a tuk tuk but the guide in her "Announcement for the Matera trip" said "that Matera is hilly and a good level of fitness is required" and triedto discourage people with a mobility issues from going. What she failed to point out was that the walk from the coach to the new town was flat. The town had many cafes and many vantage points where people could get a panoramic view of the old town and the caves. This was an easier walk than the other included trips. Mistral did not apologise for any of the issues that I raised with them. I will never travel with them again.

Very strong 3* hotel, renovated, almost on the beach. Fine breakfast. Excellent Italian buffet for dinner, different choices every evening, self-serve white and red table wine. Private beach. Friendly staff. Roof top pool under repair June 2023. Walking distance to local restaurants, shops and the lighthouse. Would stay there again.

Terrible Hotel, 1 or 2 star at most. Food was terrible at Dinner, sweet course was a slice of Melon? Breakfast was ok but you couldn't get cold cheese and ham wrong. Room was dated and the shower area pretty grotty, electrical sockets looked pretty dodgy also. No wifi what so ever. Drinks 6-10 inclusive was a sham. Rationed a bottle of local Vodka, maybe lasted a day and then all sorts of cheap spirits, always running out. No diet soft drinks available. Dining room staff were rude and probably cheap staff thrown in. Think they were afraid of their leader. I ate my soup with a fork as no spoons even though soup was on the menu. Dropped a bit of soap in the shower after the first night , it was still there when we left 7 days later. Mistral obviously didn't try out the hotel before selling. Water or wine at dinner only, no soft drinks and no bar open during dinner. Reception staff were good as was the young bartender. No safe in room. Hotel was built in the early 80's I believe but not touched since. Beds were high in the middle but sloped at either ends making the beds very uncomfortable. Probably the worst hotel I've stayed in and the worst food.

the hotel i think was ready to go in to mothball till next year, so it was running on low costs. Lets start with the all inclusive 1800 - 2200 bar, well beer and wine YES plenty, gin and vodka ran out in about 3 days and never was back in stock i think 4 bottles was the quota, breakfast was ok continental but good. Dinner arghhhhhh was not good at all, even one day they had very chilled broccoli. I had salad and wine as no beer or soft drinks on offer, the bar actually was shut during meal time? I will give them the doubt that it was end of season and this was not the normal for them.

We stayed a week in this hotel with Mistral Holidays on half board. Having arrived at Brindisi Airport there was no one to meet us and our tour group had to wait 3 hours to be picked up, not a good start!! Hotel very tired, but in a good location. Breakfast OK (if you like your cereal in a teacup not a bowl). Evening meals awful. We ate out 4 nights at local restaurants which were very good and friendly. The staff in the hotel restaurant were unfriendly and unhelpful. The sun bed experience on the beach was ridiculous (some sun beds were actually in the water at times) and unorganised when there were so many empty beds. Wi-Fi not good. We did have a good holiday only because we met some really nice fellow travellers in our group and had lots of laughs to compensate for the moans.

Just returned from this hotel Syked ourselves up that it was only 3* so not expecting the ritz and we did not get the ritz went to our room no 225 very basic , bathroom was a cupboard one in one out my husband could not bend over to wash his feet or me , not 1 power point in the room to charge up are phones or iPad wi fi very hit and miss never worked on my husband brand new iPhone at all a piece of wire hanging behind a desk with 4 plugs in it we eventually got an extension lead with one socket fridge would not work. Tv no English Channel when that worked ,I coull lol d go on and on swimming pool very cold water no umbrellas to sit under in temperatures in the 30 ‘s so useless area same trouble as others with the beach area horrible man in charge of cafe area restaurant same problems as previously stated lastly the music goes on at night until 11 to 11.30 every night so loud you cannot sleep and most of the guests over 65 !! Hotel rooms need big revamp to bring up to a decent standard such a shame because we love Italy and all the areas around puglia but would rather another hotel, on the last point the cleaners did a good job and reception tried hard but communication not brilliant and some staff good others need better people skills especially at breakfast

It seems that the beach is not owned by the hotel (despite its name) but by a snack bar who employ those who "manage" it. We apparently occupied the wrong sunbeds on a virtually empty beach. The lifeguard threatened my 72 year old wife while I was at the hotel, putting his face virtually up against hers and shouting at her, because it was his job to ensure you occupied the "correct" sunbed. "The sunbed numbers are for US and not for YOU." It seems the sunbeds are allocated to a room number but no one had told us this. **It is only since we returned home that I realised there is an obvious solution. Can you see it? Answer at end of this review. When asked to confirm the time of our transfer back to the airport our Mistral rep replied "I've told you a thousand times!" She hadn't told us at all, didn't tell us at this point and the notice on the board referred to a post on an unnamed website. The evening meal was a self-service buffet. The rep asked us to keep the same seats in the restaurant throughout the week, as to sit in a different seat each evening would confuse the staff. I still can't work that one out. At breakfast, the table setting consisted of a teaspoon and a paper napkin. Any other cutlery or crockery required had to be collected by the guest. Items (bowls, knives, etc) would regularly run out and no one rushed to replace them. One morning there were no bowls and I asked a member of staff for one. He glared at me and thrust a teacup at me and walked away. I could relate many similar tales, but we decided to laugh at each incident instead. I laughed a lot during our week. I kept expecting to hear a female voice shouting "Basil!" The shower in our room was quite the worst I have ever encountered, tiny with concertina doors. I had to soap my sponge before I entered the semi darkness (as I couldn't bend down in it) and try to wrestle the doors closed. Initially, we couldn't close the doors at all as the trim had been fitted by a child. **Change rooms.

Very tired 1970 hotel falling apart This could have been compensated for by a smiling pleasant helpful staff and good food . However the staff were sullen and unhelpful and the food was poor. No management for young staff who needed constant prompts by guests to provide service .

My wife and l have just returned from a marvellous breakat this typical Italian three star holiday hotel. What a lovely time......Helpful staff, clean rooms, breakfast and evening meals were varied and excellent, and all at a reasonable cost. All in all a lovely break for which l thank you all, Charles and Joan..
