Hotel Parasol by Dorobe

Awful hotel If you must stay because it’s cheap don’t pay for any food, the food at the buffet was COLD and only just edible. I left without trying the breakfast. I was charged 1.5 Euros for a small cup of milk so I could make some tea only to find there’s no facilities in the room to do so

Das Hotel liegt zwischen Wohnblocks und es gibt eigentlich keine Infrastruktur. Am nicht so weit entfernten Strand gibt es genau eine Bar. Das Hotel ist schon älter, was wohl dazu führt, dass die Zimmer eher groß sind und es eine Badewanne gibt. Die Einrichtung ist nicht stilvoll und das Einzelbett ist sehr unbequem. Balkon war ok. Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig. Das Frühstück war mäßig. Kein Salchichon, kein Chorizo, keine Sobrasada und natürlich auch kein Schinken. Vollautomat vermutlich mit löslichem Kaffee, so dass es keinen Espresso gibt. Dem Frühstück entgeht man nicht, es ist immer enthalten. Den Preis von 44 Euro für dieses 3-Sternehotel empfinde ich als hoch. Im Sommer hat man Strand und Pool.

Stayed at this hotel 13th-22nd June. I've allowed time to pass before writing the review as I think it's better to reflect on after a week or two. Hotel and rooms are clean, first impression of reception area was good. Lifts up to the rooms are very old but they work okay. Rooms basic but again clean, beds made and fresh towels daily which was nice. But bedrooms could do with updating. They are small, and lack any suitcase shelf like in most hotels. Or even a fold out suitcase holder would have been good. No tea or coffee facilities. No welcome pack to explain about the hotel/facilities/area. Receptionist didn't tell us anything when we were checking in, although I do recognise it was late and he seemed exhausted. So we had to ask and find out things for ourselves. Safe for the room is €35 plus a €20 deposit, which is very steep. Most hotels, especially with all inclusive would include this. I didn't find the food too bad. My favourite was always breakfast, as there were always various sorts of pastries which suited me. There was also some cooked options, bread to make toast, cereal etc. Lunch and dinner were pretty much the same as each other. Always chips, 2 kinds of plain pasta and sauces available. Usually a few different cooked meets, rice, various salads and breads. Yes normally food was only luke warm, but there was a microwave. Snack bar is in the same place, between 11am-12.20 and then 4pm-6pm or something close to that. Burgers, chips, chicken nuggets, sandwiches. They could focus more on offering better dessert options, but we got what done us. All inclusive drinks were nice, but some of the cocktails were not nice, and not made fresh, out of a machine. The soft drinks machine broke down a few times but was fixed within a few hours. Staff were friendly, although some of their English was not so good, so it was difficult to communicate. They seem to work very long hours, but I guess that's the norm for the holiday season. Pool area - not big enough and swarming with flies. The pool area is probably the area that needs the most updating. Pool is too small for the amount of guests. On the last 2 or 3 days it was taken over with local school groups, and nobody else could use it as it was full of un supervised teenagers. There is a rule of no inflatables, but this is not enforced, so there is even less space. The fountain sits unused, an ugly eyesore, and the 2 smaller pools are pretty useless. They would be better with one big pool. Also, with the grass, and all the hedges and bushes, you could not sunbathe in peace, without being constantly attacked by flies. I got a few bites on my legs which were very itchy. They'd be better tiling it over and removing the bushes. Entertainment was a big low point too. The bar in the inside room with the 'Entertainment' was never open. The bingo prize was a jug of cocktail, what would we want with that while all inclusive? The pool is enclosed all the time which doesn't give the hotels pool area a nice feel. The food is cold although there is a microwave. Food consists of pork and chicken or pasta everyday. Not much choice at all. AI bar 11 to 11 outside. No indoor bar well there is but never opened. Rooms OK but patio door didn't lock. All in all I/we would not go again. Also approximately 30 min walk to the square. Can't fault staff they were lovely.

Definitely NOT a 4* hotel. Refurbished rooms are nicely decorated and modern. That's only positive point. Staff are not friendly or welcoming, if staying all inclusive as we were, they really can't be bothered with you. If queues at the bar,they serve paying customers before all inclusive,for example. Crappy small plastic cups if all inclusive for drinks.Not good selection or standard of food, very basic. We're not fussy eaters but had to eat out most days unless you want chicken nuggets,chips or sausages. Plenty of beds round the pool but they had to be the most uncomfortable sun beds I've ever lay on. Entertainment non existent unless you want to play bingo in Spanish. 2 minutes walk to the beach and a few bars and restaurants. Personally wouldn't recommend this hotel and definitely won't be back.

Jairol accommodated us very well he was a great host to bingo and really made the crowd laugh I would defiantly recommend him as a host he really interacted with the crowd the crowd and made everyone laugh constantly we were here for a week and he gave us the best of service

Very disappointed to begin it has not had a refurbishment and is not finished either as I was told in emails before confirming the booking (I booked direct). The only areas decorated are those shown in the pictures, the rest of the hotel is very very run down. It is not able to cater for English families or kids. Most of the kids programme that’s on the board is non existent and one of the animation team does not speak or engage with the English speaking kids. Rooms decorated but very small and all 4 people on single camp beds (not what is shown in the pictures). Food was basically the same each day but lots to choose from and lots of fresh salad. The pool bar and entertainment stage was a work in progress, so I hike into the hotel every time you want a drink by the pool, but apparently when it does open main bar will close so always only 1 bar open at a time There are no towels provided for the loungers and they are very uncomfortable plastic slotted loungers (I would imagine they are supposed to have a sponge layer over) with no tables or umbrellas provided. The Loungers are stacked and you’re supposed to lift your own off these are never hosed down and are dirty from last season. We had a couple of days at the beginning of the holiday with bad rain so looked for the tv and games room to be told they aren’t in use when we found they are being filled office workers for the hotel which made for a couple of tough days. The bar staff were lovely but at times under a lot of pressure because generally only 1 staff at a time. The pool looks unwelcoming with a fence around it, they opened part of it after I asked was it open as no one had used it, it ranges from 110-165cm and does not have a lifeguard The hotel is a perfect location to the beach, shops, train and bus services. Evening entertainment is bingo every night I did push my areas of concern and met with the manager Oliver who accepted my issues and is trying to make changes. Our friends were staying in a cheaper hotel just up puente real and this was more like a resort with kids entertainment all day, big stages, foam parties, music and just general atmosphere I was gutted when we called into their hotel to see the difference

Jairol and marina in my opinion are what keep the hotel running , they are constantly running around trying to make everyone laugh and have a good time , they work long shifts and always on there feet but help anyway they can , would deffo recommend especially if these 2 are working, they are great with both kids and adults making it enjoyable for all , personally and great time. They should definitely get some recognition for all there hard work. Keep up the great work guys!!!
