Ecocamp Patagonia

Did I step over a magic line when I exited the van at EcoCamp? Surely the calming peace I felt at such a simple start could not last. But it did and only became a stronger feeling of I was meant to be here. Every previous review I read, while wonderful, didn't sink in that that too could be me until it was. I was lucky with weather & luckier still with my awesome guides Paola & Marina. Also Joaquin who stayed with me when I slowed down on a hike, Vale who started me off with a great welcoming in Puerto Natales and Paulina at Cascada who helped me start this journey I can't thank you enough. EcoCamp had so many smiling friendly staff but sadly I didn't get everyones names but Raul & Vanessa at the information dome were both wonderful. I was in a spacious Suite dome with a view of the towers not that I spent much time there. I didn't light the stove but the bed covers were just enough to keep me warm. It was a short walk to the community dome but at night I recommed a headlamp or flashlight. The community dome was just that the right place to meet new adventurers & compare notes. It had both indoor & outdoor spaces to relax. I did easy trails but some others had a bit of weather higher up making those hikes a lttle tougher but they were still smiling. So much food to choose from including vegan, veggie & gluten free for breakfast & to pack your lunch. The dinners were beyond fantastic. I had many rainbows, sunrises, Milky Way & Southern Cross and the rain & wind waited til dark & cleared by day time. I must admit the wind at night was fierce & shook my dome but I was safe & comfy. Aside from people & food and the location (wow) it was the carbon neutral, no waste, let's be greener than green that warmed me to the core. They practice what they preach. I think that above all is what I took away from this awesome place & the people I met there that I must do better to protect our planet. The beauty of Torres del Paine & the experience at Ecocamp were the highlights of my month traveling around Chile.

Ecocamp Patagonia was outstanding. Book early. The staffs are super friendly and accommodating. I love the fact that the menu offerings for vegetarian is outstanding. We ate five dinners there and the vegetarian dishes were different each night and very tasty. We love the fact that Ecocamp is very conscious of its impact to the environment, and takes the appropriate steps to leave as little "footprints" as possible.

Did the W trek with Ecocamp. The guides Martin R. and Martin A. are incredible and lovely guys. The services of the domo, transfers and foods are really good. At night, the standard domo is really cold and a suggestion is that it could be provided 2 blankets per person by default. Only one is provided for a couple, we requested one more and they provided. But it was still not enough. Great experience and highly recommended, specially the guides!

I did the 5 day W trek in April ‘24. ECOCAMP was very good and prompt in communication prior to the trip (I booked in Jan ‘24) and clear about pricing, packages, and other details upon inquiring. The company is locally run with a strong focus on reducing their carbon footprint (they were carbon neutral when I went). The nights at ECOCAMP were very comfortable, even though my dome had no electricity or central heat (standard dome). The thick fleece blankets kept me sufficiently warm. The showers all have warm water. The food was honestly gourmet with multiple courses and vegan and vegetarian options offered daily. They had free yoga classes daily, which I enjoyed also. Most importantly, their expert trekking guides Martin A and Martin R kept my group of 8 people very safe and well informed during the W trek. Unlike other companies I had researched, the ECOCAMP guides trek with you for the ENTIRE trek, not segments. They were well aware of weather changes and always had a plan B. They also kept the group’s spirits up during the long trek. I would recommend 100% ECOCAMP. A very positive experience

With one exception (more on that below), everything about EcoCamp is superb - the accommodations, food, service, value, and most especially, the guides. Fabian, Martin, and Pablo were exceptional. The trek was everything I imagined it would be - glorious, and extremely challenging (34 miles in 3 days with plenty of elevation, scrambling over boulders). The one misfortunate is something EcoCamp can do nothing about. The trek requires one night of camping at Refugio Paine Grande. The food was one step shy of vomit inducing, the restrooms filthy. The sleeping bag I was given had a lunch bag in it... I slept less than one hour in a cramped, cold tent (the winds are ferocious - no one's fault that), and could not wait to escape the 'refuge'. I see that Refugio Paine Grande has fairly good reviews elsewhere online. Don't believe it. So, if you trek with EcoCamp, select the upgrade of a bunk in a building, and bring your own food! But EcoCamp itself is topnotch. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Eco camp is a real treat. If you are doing a walk you don't have a lot of time to enjoy it as such but a very nice place to return to after a long day. The eco domes are very spread out so you have a lot of privacy. Yoga dome was a lovely space to spend some time. The common areas are very cosy. Food and service was excellent!

12 of us stayed at EcoCamp Patagonia for four days last week (March, 2024) while on a ten day excursion into Patagonia. Our experience at EcoCamp was amazing. Excellent food, unique accommodations and spectacular views. My wife and I stayed in Suite Five dome and were very happy with our dome. It is true that on occasion I could detect a slight order from the composting toilet but my wife said she never did smell it. In March the temperatures in Patagonia were in the 30s at night and 50+ in the daytime so our dome was comfortable temperature wise. I built a small fire in the stove in the evening before bed and again in the morning to warm up the room. Our service in the Community Domes was exceptional and the food ample. Staff were attentive and polite. Our overall experience was very positive at EcoCamp.

Our experience at EcoCamp was amazing. We did the 5 day Wildlife Safari (3 days of hiking) and stayed in the standard dome. The dome did not have heat or electricity but stayed cozy and warm. I really appreciate the sustainably of ecocamp and wish more places, especially in natural environments, would follow suit. I could feel confident in my travels knowing I was leaving behind only footprints. From the guides to the staff, everyone was so nice. The food was truly amazing. I've never seen so many full rainbows and such a clear night's sky of the milky way. Highly recommend staying here and visiting Patagonia. It's beautiful.

Cascada did a super job with orchestrating our nine day backpacking trek around the Patagonia O-circuit. Our two guides, Danni and Alberto, were spectacular. Their in-depth knowledge of the park and their fun sense of humor ensured that all of us in the group had a phenomenal experience on the trail. I would highly recommend Danni and Alberto and Cascada to anyone who might be considering Patagonia - they are great!
