High quality hotel, well maintained and clean, in a great location for exploring Trencin. Rooms spacious with good (and necessary in summer) air conditioning. Reception staff were very helpful before we arrived (allocation neighbouring rooms) and whilst there (helping us find a laundrette open on weekends)

Very nice and spacious hotel, a mixture of old architecture with modern design details. The parking is missing so you have to park across the street at the public garage. Breakfast is very good with plenty of food varieties to choose from.

TLDR: + super friendly staff and speak English well + nice clean airconditioned quiet rooms + breakfast pastries, fried eggs, and choice + good coffee + nice wellness and good priced great massage + easy parking 15/day good price + fantastic gym! + best location in Trencin - low water pressure - kids in the wellness when it should be adult only overall a great hotel, based on 3 night review. good clean rooms, super friendly staff during checking and general when we had questions, we needed an iron for clothes and that was super quick, easy parking ( 15/day) wellness was ok, 2 nice saunas ( herbal and Finnish) then a steam room that has little steam, and then a 4th room that somehow didn't do much ( just 35 degree, the water didnt work) pool we didn't try, but you can order drinks at the pool and its fast and an ok price ( 3.5 euro for 0.5l Radler) massage was 36 for 50 minutes, and it was great. gym was great, ell equipped and free weights, all machines are dual use, so push machine is also a pull ( very clever choice and design, good use of space, 24/7, loved our daily workouts) breakfast was good, nice coffee, nice fried eggs one day, another day it was fried break that was not good. lots of choice in cold cuts, really nice pastry crumble. overall lovely hotel, I wont even go back to Slovakia, but if somehow I do, I would stay again. The interior was nice as well, great renovation, modern plus the classic look

I believe our issue was that we came in with high expectations - hotel is highly rated + we got recommendations from family. It was eventually a good stay. I would highlight sauna area; staff in the cafe; visual of room and the hotel; very noise cancelling walls (we could not hear anyone from the other rooms but we could hear a bit from the street); also breakfast was good;massage; location:) The places for development: - 10 cm gap between the beds - staff in the reception was not welcoming. Every question we asked seemed a bit painful for them to answer. We even heard the other receptionist had an argument with one other visitor on the phone and it was not professional. On the other hand the lady who worked on 1.1.2023 on the reception was more the professional and very helpful! - as we stayed during New Years Eve we expected some information regarding the opening hours of facilities and possibly an offer to buy tickets for the NYE celebrations, however this did bot happen automatically and we needed to ask all of the details. I believe they should inform guest on eg. restaurant is closed the whole day on 31st etc. To sum up, we stayed in much worse looking hotels but the welcoming atmosphere, info provided, staff behavior was on higher standard. Wish good success to the hotel for the future

I chose this hotel for the pool. When I arrived I was 3 hours early for 3pm check in and asked to leave my rucksack. I was told there is no luggage room which surprised me as it is listed as a 4 star hotel. The lady was helpful and took my bag anyway, but really there should have been a luggage room. When I returned to check in I was upset to see my room faced the castle wall, If I put my hand out I think I could have touched it. I have claustrophobia and I immediately felt anxious and couldn’t breathe, The room also smelled bad, fusty and unpleasant and there was no way I could not sleep in it, I left the room immediately. I asked for a bright room And whilst the man in reception was checking I asked about the pool, when could I use it. I was stunned to be told the pool cost 17 euros for guests to use! Never in my life I have stayed in a hotel with a pool and had to pay to use it. I pointed nowhere online does it say the pool is extra and I would not have booked the hotel if I had known. The lady eho took my bag earlier came out and introduced herself as the manager and proceeded to be very irate with me over my questioning on the pool and my complaint about the room. In all I felt upset and shocked by the attitude, I was a paying guest who was made to feel humiliated. I was given a new room which was facing the inner atrium it was bright and nice but the beds are very low so if you have mobility issues like me ( I have Fibromyalgia and am in pain constantly) the stress on my joints when trying to get up off the bed was a lot. I couldn’t get the heating to work and the water was only lukewarm so I couldn’t have a hot shower. I slept in my clothes as I was so cold. I didn't want to call reception after the way I was treated earlier so I said nothing and just waited for daylight so I could leave. Awful experience. The only reason I gave 2 stars is breakfast was a delightful, beaut dining room and delicious food and choice and the staff were polite. I do not recommend this hotel.
