I booked this room on ********** 'reserve now, pay later' months ago, on January 28, this location tried to charge my debit card for the entire amount of the stay. Luckily, my card was locked. The manager immediately left a voicemail stating 'high demand week with a special event so we normally authorize the card the week out. If you could call back today to provide a card or I would have to cancel the reservation." I called back and explained I did not have the money nine days out, but would be getting paid on Friday and the money could be taken that day. Payment was not taken Friday, I called Saturday and was told "you're good to go". At check in, I placed the room on my credit card, along with the deposit. While packing up Saturday, they attempted to charge my debit card AGAIN!! This caused a 'fraud alert' I am now without a debit card, have to wait on it to be mailed, have in theory been attempted to be charged over $2200 for a room. I will incur multiple overdraft fees because of the fraud. Had the first charge went through, multiple payments would have been returned, resulting in us having to cancel my daughter's trip to a high school band function. Now without a debit card, I am without money until the card arrives in the mail? Not only will I not be staying at a Home2 Suite, word of mouth travels.
