Detroit Marriott Troy

Outstanding front desk—helpful, engaging, and cheerful. The place was clean, busy, organized, and comfortable. With so much family in MI, we'll definitely be back. The room was perfect, the show's water pressure was strong, and hot water came fast. Thanks!

This hotel fulfilled its function well, the conference I attended went smoothly and the hotel staff were always courteous and helpful to a bunch of mixed Europeans and Americans. It is a little tired around the edges but nothing to complain about, my room was kept spotless and linen/towels changed regularly. Hotels food offering was limited but there are plenty of decent restaurants in easy walking distance. I thought that at $25.00 the 'hot' breakfast was overpriced for what was essentially warmed food. If you are looking to use this hotel as a base to explore Detroit then be aware it is about 40 minutes away from the centre of Detroit and the airport

Refreshed hotel, clean, food was good. I spend about 100 nights a year in Marriotts I feel I know the rules well, typically when a family member travels with me I let the hotel know on the Bonvoy app they are coming in first. The name is added to the reservation they are given the card on file and everything is smooth, however the response at this location was basically that wasn’t there problem if I wanted to do anything with the reservation I needed to call reservations. What a time kill to go in and wait until someone can add the name, even that person seemed perplexed I was instructed to call them. Definitely not what I expected. The other area that could stand a rethink is the parking lot at the back, more lights would be very helpful. The lounge is not open on weekends and that starts on Fridays.

Dear GM, This is probably the worst Marriott I have ever been to service wise. From checkin to checkout, god awful. Blonde girl with an accent is full of attitude, made a weird facial expression of disgust as I walked away thinking I didn’t see it, customer service training is certainly needed. The food has gone down hill since last year, the restaurant has strange hours… My room was full of ladybugs and it was just disgusting… especially for a Marriott. The shuttle convenience is the best thing about the place I didn’t really have a car for work so I was able to take it. Older Italian gentleman took me pretty rad dude I appreciated it. Same girl checked me out, same weird attitude, no eye contact barely said good morning, handed me my receipt and ignored me pretending to type things on her computer until I walked away. I really like this area and I hope to give this property another chance in the next year or so. All best, Robby

My elderly mother and I just stayed at the Marriott Troy, MI. It is an amazing hotel with an attentive staff that ensures a personalized stay. The rooms are very clean and elegantly appointed with modern comforts and safety features for the disabled and handicapped. The manager, Mark, provided impeccable service. The hotel's central location allows for easy and safe exploration of medical facilities, shopping, and restaurants. Overall, a truly exceptional and memorable experience. We look forward to returning and referring friends, colleagues and family.

Our dissatisfaction stems from a discrepancy regarding your hotel's cancellation policy. Earlier in the day, we contacted the establishment to inquire about the cancellation policy for our reservation. On our initial call, we were informed that a 24-hour notice would suffice to adjust our reservation without incurring any charges. However, the hotel staff changed dramatically when we called back just one hour later, and we were given entirely contradictory information, stating that we would be liable for the full amount of our reservation. This sudden inconsistency left us in a state of confusion, as we attempted to navigate the conflicting information provided the staff. What added significantly to our dissatisfaction was the manner in which we were treated throughout this ordeal, particularly by John Rich, the Director of Finance. Mr. Rich not only failed to provide any assistance, but he also exhibited an astonishing degree of dismissiveness toward our legitimate concerns. To our astonishment, he did not even bother to pull up our reservation, and when he did join the conversation, his sole purpose seemed to be to brush aside our questions and objections. Unfortunately, this situation did not occur in isolation. Throughout this entire episode, which spanned interactions with Jacklynn Brock, Ceej Wilhelm, and Mr. Rich, we were met with a consistent lack of empathy, understanding, and professionalism. The situation deteriorated to the point where Mr. Rich abruptly hung up on us during our conversation, leaving us feeling disrespected and entirely unheard.

Everything that you really want in a hotel. This hotel was in a great location near a lot of good restaurants. The rooms were updated and very clean ( no carpet, which I prefer) The bed was super comfortable and the shower was hot with plenty of water pressure. This Marriott will be our go to place to stay when we visit the Troy / Birmingham area.

I want to make sure that Ms.Brenda, Ceej, Irina and Mr. Vern get the credit that they deserve! The best hostel customer service I’ve ever dealt with! I had an issue to where my room was cancel Thursday before I got here that Saturday. I called and spoke with Mr.Brenda and she gave me her word that everything would be ok. Now you know how people will just tell you anything these days to get you off the phone. So I was skeptical that everything would go smooth at check in. So I arrive Saturday ready to cry my eyes out just in case things didn’t workout but when I got to the counter CeeJ and Irina made everything smooth as butter! From the complementary water to just being so informative about the hotel and what they have to offer. But then it gets even better… so it’s time for dinner and so we got on the shuttle that Mr.Vern was driving and he took us there and back to the restaurant. All of this happened on day 1!! The room was super clean and no funny smell. It was just perfect.Please make sure EVERYONE gets a raise because they deserve it! I haven’t even completed my stay just yet but that’s how good the service was I had to get on here to make a review!
