Xela

We had a fabulous experience at Xela Tulum -- a stunnung resort on Beach Road. The property is away from the louder areas of Beach Road and felt very private, yet it was also within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars. This small and private resort was perfect for our group of four (two couples). Great indoor space and outdoor space with a pool that overlooks the Caribbean Sea. The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive to our needs. A special callout to Isabel but all of the staff should be commended for their friendiness, hard work, and customer focus.

This hotel is truly one of a kind. The layout of the hotel is exceptional and the staff was so welcoming. The views from the room, roof, and pool are all incredible. The drinks and food downstairs are so good as well. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing time at the beach with opportunities for fun as well.

We have mixed feelings when it comes to Xela. We did our wedding at one of the Namron establishments in May and thoroughly enjoyed that aspect of it. We opted to stay at Nu based on the fact it was relatively new and was recommended by the event coordinator. We wanted to love the stay, but left with mixed feelings. Pros: - lovely staff, always quick to respond and happy to help - unique hotel and very clean - private beach access and good availability of cabanas/chairs - great breakfast selection - excellent events team to assist with wedding coordination. Cons: - shower was always cold (you would think this is not a problem in the heat but there’s only so long you can do cold showers) - toilet was iffy - AC never felt cold enough. It was uncomfortable as we slept. - we had a room with a ‘plunge pool’ but it was not cleaned daily and had debris/dead bugs making you not want to use it. The wedding itself was great and felt seamless with the help of Fernanda. This was not in Fernanda’s control, but we found it to be difficult in securing a second room to use for hair/make-up/get dressed on the wedding day. After some back and forth, we were able to secure a second room for a few hours and as we were getting pictures taken I received a text message from one of the staff indicating I needed to leave the room (I was there for 3.5 hours total). This felt inconsiderate considering it was our wedding day and I was getting my hair/make-up done. Please note we paid for half nights’ stay to use for a few hours. I felt that I could’ve done without that pressure on my wedding day.

I’ve been visiting Tulum for almost 20 years and have experienced many hotels along the way. I can easily say Xela is my favorite place yet. It has combined all of my favorite features in one. First, the location on this particular stretch of beach is optimal. There is an amazing pool overlooking the ocean which is such a welcome refresher in those moments you’ve had enough sand and sea. The rooms— and I toured many of them, are all beautiful in their own way. The design of the hotel is next level, like an art gallery, without feeling cold. A rooftop deck with comfortable lounge areas for sunsets. And to top it all off, the service is attentive, accommodating and so very friendly. You feel like friends sadly parting ways by the time you have to check out. I’m so thrilled to have found my new home in Tulum. Thank you to Alan and Isabel and the entire Xela team….

We had a very quiet and pleasant stay. Although there is one hotel near the other, Xela is located in the beginning of a quieter zone. The hotel is very nice and beautifully decorated, with extremely good taste. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Staff is extremely attentive and friendly, Isabel, Alan and Oscar at the reception and all the waiters. They read your thoughts and when you are ready to ask for something at the beach, they come and offer you a small shot to drink, each day a different one made of local fruit.

We had a confirmed Vacation planned in the US South, fortunately, there was an IT issue that affected our Airline flight schedule, which brought us to this wonderful place. Concierge staff (Abdiel and Isabel) Truly a joy to talk with. Bar staff Alex, Jesus, Juan Carlos. Made my stay at the beach, magical..lol Highly recommend Xela, we made friends here and will definitely be back!

We stayed here for my 45th birthday. It was perfect. Our room was very spacious. The property has a pool and a beautiful beach front. The service was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. The hotel is walking distance from almost anywhere. We did have a car that made it a bit easier to get around. We will most definitely be back. Isabelle was very helpful with anything we needed. All the servers were amazing and attentive.

The staff at Xela Tulum takes care of all tasks to ensure a stress-free vacation. They handle transportation, dining events, and tours, communicating efficiently before and during your stay. We had a large group for my husband's 50th birthday, and they were extremely helpful in organizing and confirming everything. My friend and I had two early morning tours, and they provided us with to-go breakfasts. They learn all your names and are dedicated to serving you and your needs. The hotel is gorgeous with a great ambiance. Delicious food. Excellent experience all around.

Great little hidden gym right in the heart of everything. Rooms and service are off the chart. We love that they didn't have TVs in the room as it makes you get outside and enjoy the pool and the beach. We actually enjoyed the food on site and the cost compared to almost every restaurant that we went to. Definitely coming back!!
