I love that this property. was so big and had so many great options. I found that the service was slow unfortunately as it seems that there are more than enough staff employed at this resort.

Entire staff was friendly, especially our check in guru Christopher. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were well kept. Shuttle service was super convenient. A couple days walking the paths to or from the rooms there was a strong septic smell, but it was pretty localized to a specific area. Beaches were great and easy enough to find a spot for the day. Would recommend staying at Bahía Príncipe Akumal.
Try the Dolce Vita restaurant it was our favorite. ku’uk restaurant was good also.

What I liked:
1) shuttle service was really good, regardless of what other reviewers have said we never had any issues getting around and there we tons of shuttles between resorts
2) shows each night were awesome, especially the Fiesta Mexicana (at an additional charge but worth it)
3) staff were amazing although many did not speak english (sometimes requests would get lost in translation) but they were lovely just the same
4) loved that they had option to change pillows as I need a hard contour pillow for my neck and I hate hotel pillows
5) excursions and everything happened all on time
6) a la carte restaurants were great (if you can get in in time, BOOK EARLY)
Didn't like:
1) our room was infested with mosquitoes and flies. We must have been near standing water as my parent's room were on the floor above and they had no mosquitos. We were killing about 15 mosquitos a day while in our room
2) the rain shower was old and had little water pressure and the water was either scalding or freezing
3) THE BEGGING FOR TIPS I could not stand and the exorbitant prices for souveniers anywhere we went. I want to want to give you a tip. The requesting for tips was so in your face (excursions were the worst) I felt like we were on a charitable or missionary trip and everywhere you turned someone had their hand out or they were constantly reminding you to tip or there were jars everywhere. I will always tip but this was extreme to the point I did not want to tip

Resort felt a little older. Pools were very clean and water was cold. Lots of pool options (adults only, main pool, and quiet pool area). Lots of bar options but liquors mentioned online were not available even for a fee (for ex. Jack Daniel’s, Hennessy etc). Overall we enjoyed the resort and loved having access to the other nearby resorts. I would recommend this resort to those that are interested in a nice place by the beach with several food and drink options but would not consider it high luxury.

This resort was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there. It could use some updating, the rooms are outdated, and we had to ask for extra stuff to be brought to the room a few times because housekeeping forgot to give them to us. The food is ok, not great, but the pools and drinks are really good. It’s a very family friendly resort with lots of activities and programming.

This was the best all-inclusive I've ever stayed at. It was so beautiful, immaculately manicured, and so friendly for traveler's new and seasoned. The staff were PHENOMENAL!! Only tiny knit-pick detail that was a little cumbersome was trying to get the hotel room's soap/shampoo refilled; I went 5 days with no soaps other than the handsoap intended for the sink. Nonetheless, this place was surreal.

Overall it was a good experience. We stayed in Akumal. The resort overall is huge, maybe too big. Pool water was cold. Would have been nice if it was a bit warmer. Nothing special in any of the pools as they are the same. Some small fun water slides over 7-9 year old kids in Tulum. Food was good everywhere we ate and service was good. Had an issue w the a/c that we had to call 3 times for them to service. Dolphin experience was fun and great for my kids.

Gorgeous resort, friendly and helpful staff, not over crowded. Having a la carte options each night, at different restaurants was amazing!!! The transportation is efficient, the pools are fabulous and the buffet is delicious - SO many options!!!!! Would stay here again IN A HEARTBEAT!
