Jagat Niwas Palace

Probably the BEST Heritage hotel I have come across in my life. Very helpful staff. AMAZINGGG FOOD. 100% Recommend. Very charming staff amazing views. I have nothing bad to say about them honestly. If I could give 6 stars out of 5 I would give it.

My friend and I didn’t stay in this hotel, but just had dinner on their rooftop which was excellent: good food and friendly staff. However, beware when you leave the hotel on the right hand side is a sales*** who sells much too expensive textile, and he pretends to travel a lot to Europe for his exhibitions. His is a fluent French speaker, so he gains your trust that way, but do not.

My wife and I stayed here in Room 209 for 4 nights in early March . We were so glad that we did -after reading a few mixed reviews. Our room looked out to the lake -a sensational view to wake up to. Bed extremely comfortable . Breakfast excellent with plenty of choice and smiling staff. The view from the rooftop restaurant in the evening is sublime. Food really good, plenty of choice -including western style food, and very good value . We used the pool area on two days --the only criticism is the lack of sun loungers --only two. However -the new ***ager told us that this will change very soon. There are chairs to sit on by the pool . The hotel itself is simply beautiful , clearly loved and cared for . Photos do not do it justice. Udaipur was our favourite destination on a North India tour-a simply beautiful city with a relaxed vibe . We really hope that we will return -and will certainly stay at this hotel again .Hopefully there will be a few more sun loungers then ! Thanks to all the lovely staff for making our final few nights in India so enjoyable . What a wonderful Country it is

Stunning hotel in Udaipur on lake Pichola. Beautiful rooms and amazing spaces in the hotel (window seats overlooking the lake, roof terrace). Views of the lake are amazing! Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is very good, better than local restaurants. Perfect for exploring Udaipur!

We were looking forward to staying at the Jagat but left feeling a bit disappointed. It has a very good central location and we had a fantastic room overlooking the lake and was very spacious. However, the hotel is let down by poor service. On the first morning at breakfast my wife ordered mint tea and it never arrived. Then at dinner it took over half an hour for my bill to be presented. Worst of all it took over an hour for our food to be served on our 2nd night and the waiters didn’t seem bothered when I asked why it was taking so long. I was also left disappointed by the very small pool on the roof, with only 2 sun loungers that were also very dirty. Overall, it’s a shame because this has the makings of a great hotel, but is let down by poorly trained staff with a poor attitude .

This hotel is in a brilliant location and is beautifully maintained with an excellent rooftop restaurant. The lake views are amazing and the staff super friendly and helpful. Beds are comfy and the bedding was lovely and crisp and the whole place spotless. There’s a small pool on the roof and a spa. Fantastic value for money.

A beautiful hotel right on the waterside with the most wonderful views across the lake to the Lake Palace Hotel, and on to the Monsoon Palace in the distance. We had supper on both nights of our stay in the roof top restaurant and was served by the most lovely Dinesh .The food and drinks were really delicious. At breakfast we sat over looking the lake listening to the most wonderful music coming from the temple opposite. The hotel is in the perfect location situated within very easy walking distance to the City Palace, Temple and foot bridge over to the other side of the lake.We would particularly recommend heading over that side for less traffic, lovely shopping and a more peaceful Udaipur experience. Jagat Niwas was a wonderful place to stay in beautiful Udaipur.

We did a 3-week trip of North and South India 24th Jan to 16th Feb and stayed in numerous hotels, this hotel was perhaps the most professional. The location was central to Udaipur. The hotel was well-staffed, and people were always on hand to help. The hotel room was on the ground floor, giving access to a shared courtyard. We loved sitting in the small library section on comfortable mattresses which extended into an alcove. The room was clean and the hotel was in exceptionally good condition. When not walking around the area we enjoyed sitting on the sun loungers on the balcony area (although we could only find two loungers for the whole hotel). On the first night we went to a nearby restaurant 'Charcoal' which was very good. Our stay at the hotel was marred following a meal on the second night at the hotel restaurant at which I had the Ravioli and got a gastric infection. As you can imagine the following day was awful. For this reason the hotel only gets 3 stars. If it wasn't for that, probably 4.5 stars.

Comfortable, charming, and so much fun. This was an excellent stay, and the hospitality from all of the staff was just perfect. The hotel is really beautiful, and the location is unbeatable. The restaurant on the rooftop was delicious, and the night time views of the lake were a highlight.
