New Park Retreat & Event Center

Overall a great stay and a magical place. Went for a mother/daughter trip and stayed in the Balloon Suite. Loved the eclectic and quirky decor. The old school dial up phone was great! The rainfall shower was heavenly. Very peaceful and relaxing vibe here. A few recommendations for improvement. The pillows were very thin and flat and could use replacement. The suite would benefit from a deep clean. There were cobwebs in the circular window above the mosaic, lots of dead bugs in the bathroom light and scuff marks along the wall where the headboards were. One of the sliding door screens was missing a handle which made it hard to open. We couldn’t really enjoy the outdoor deck because there were hornets all over. The a/c unit is directly above the beds which caused it to blow directly on you while sleeping. I also would have appreciated some better wine glasses/wine opener. There were two very old looking plastic tumblers and a basic corkscrew opener but being in wine country I would have appreciated an upgrade on this. I also would have loved to have learned more about the history of this place. We never interacted with any staff while here and there was no write up about the history. I would recommend this place and return myself because it is unique and has a magical feel. Just a few areas of improvement and it would be 5 star!

My husband and I do an overnight stay once every couple months as a way to reconnect and get a solid night of sleep (we have a toddler and he is not a fan of the whole sleep thing). We stayed at the Park Suite at New Park for my birthday in December. We absolutely loved it, right down to every little detail. The room was beautiful and had everything we could need. Also, it was exceptionally clean. You’d think during this time that hotels would be going the extra mile to make sure rooms are spotless upon your arrival but sadly we have been seeing the exact opposite. But New Park IS going that extra mile!! They really didn’t miss a single spot. The bathroom -WOW. I have no other words. Even the keurig coffee station deserves a special mention because I’m a big coffee drinker and I’m often frustrated by the lack of variety other hotels have. Not only that, but I’m usually having to call the front desk and ask for more cream and sugar because they assume everyone just likes black coffee or that no one should need more than 2 creamers. The Park Suite had a huge selection of k-cups and plenty of cream and sugar. This was much appreciated!!! And finally, the view of the forest was serene (I can only imagine how gorgeous it is in the spring and fall). We had a crazy windy storm the night we stayed so unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to walk around and look at everything, but we are hoping for better weather next time because it seemed like there was lots to see. With as many trips as we have taken over the years, this was our absolute favorite and also one of the more affordable ones! The staff was also so nice and attentive. We plan on booking again soon!
