Very nice accommodation in lovely location. Bedroom quiet and comfortable, staff very friendly and excellent cooked breakfasts. 20 minutes walk down to Rusty Mackerel pub for food and live music (need to book a table as very busy) or 10 minute drive into Carrick (pub with food; grocery shop; good fish and chips from van in central square). Lovely walk along Pilgrim's Path to top of Slieve League cliffs, but shrouded in cloud so came back down same path rather than trying to navigate along cliff tops in poor visibility. Visited nearby Glencolumbkille where there is a great folk museum, cliff walk, standing stones and megalithic tombs. Walked over to lovely An Port with dramatic sea views. Returned in car via Malin More taking in about 8 megalithic tombs (find using map as not signposted), with most spectacular being the Cloghanmore courtyard tomb on road back from Malin More to Carrick. Moved on to Bunbeg and looked at impressive portal tombs at Kilclooney More on the way north, as well as a short visit to Aran Island (ferry from Burtonport).
