Hotel Spa & Restaurant Cantemerle

We spent an amazing 3 days at this gorgeous little hotel , it is in the countryside so it’s incredibly quiet , just the birds singing . Breakfast is lovely and varied . If you fancy a massage I would highly recommend Fabienne x she was absolutely amazing , best massage I have ever had . Such a treat . Will definitely return

Enjoyed our stay at The Cantemerle whilst visiting the NIce area for the Rugby World Cup. Facilities are great and the duplex rooms are stunning. Food is OK, not great. Staff are particularly friendly (especially at the front desk). It is a bit of an uphill trek to reach the old town of Vence, but this provided us with most of the exercise we took during our stay! Would certainly stay here again.

The hotel grounds were beautiful, but there were several issues. The steps to our room were broken, and this is dangerous. We ate dinner therethe first night and were extremely disappointed in the taste and quality of the food. The second night the hotel restaurant was closed so we made a reservation at a restaurant in town. We were unable to confirm a ride with Uber, nor were we able to secure a taxi from the woman at the desk. We had no food as the restaurant was closed. We pleaded for something. We were given a skimpy plate of bread, cheese and ham and charged $38 for it. The hot food at the breakfast consisted of runny eggs and cold crepes in a serving tray. The coffee was not warm. The woman who checked us out first overcharged us on the bill and then corrected it with a credit for the ovecharge. She said she was confused. YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO RENT A CAR AT THIS OUT OF THE WAY PLACE.

My wife and I enjoyed two nights at the hotel Cantemerle. The property was lovely and we were able to enjoy the pools, steam room, and jacuzzi with fantastic views. The staff was very professional and very nice, too! We highly recommend the Hotel (and restaurant, too!)and are looking forward to another trip toVeance. Merci to the staff!

We have enjoyed Hotel Cantemerle as a very lovely place in short driving distance to the turbulences of the Côte D'Azure seaside hotspots. It is a place for relaxing with nice in- and outdoor pools and a jacuzzi with marvellous seaside view to the Mediterranean Sea. We had two spacious superior double rooms with a large balcony with our friends. The rooms have been equipped quite luxury, with lots of wardrobe spaces and have been in an excellently maintained condition. Every thing was showing up in exceptional high standard. The restaurant was excellent and the service team was simply great. They have been very responsive and kind. There is only one thing with room for improvement: the scrambled eggs are a tasteless instrustrial fluid egg mush. There have been many save parking places for cars around the hotel. During night, the entrance to the hotel area was closed and could be opened by guests via separate code. The hotel is in nearby walking distance to the romantic ancient town of Vence. Here we have found many nice restaurants during those days where the hotel restaurant was closed during off-saison. Bottom line: this hotel is worth a visit! It is our insider tip.

This was our second stay at Hotel Cantemerle and it fully lived up to our expectations. Each room is comfortable and spacious and is kept in scrupulously clean condition each day by very unobtrusive house staff. Our thanks go to them. We we were blessed with unbroken sunshine and so made full use of the extensive gardens and swimming pool - at no time did the latter become 'crowded' and most frequently it was like having a private pool. The restaurant is a strength of the hotel, with good food presented in an attractive way. The greatest strength of the hotel is its staff. Reception staff provide a warm welcome and were very quick to respond to any communication prior to our arrival. the restaurant staff are informally efficient and treated my attempts at speaking French with good humour and friendliness. Our thanks go to all for making our visit so memorable.

Hotel Cantemerle is a very beautiful and comfortable oasis. I spent 5 night in early September. I particularly like the room design and coordination of the colors of the window drapes, pillows and beddings. The food was very nice and the staff attentive to guest. Most/all of the staff also spoke fluent English which made communication easier. Overall, a great experience. You can’t go wrong here.

A wonderful place to relax, nice facilities (pool, restaurant, garden, sun-deck, gym, boule area). Very friendly staff. Parking with charging facilities - though only standard household plug. Plan a few days to take advantage of all facilities.

We stayed in a duplex room in Hotel Cantemerle at the end of August for three nights and we completely enjoyed our stay there. The duplex room comprised one main floor plus a gallery floor. The lower floor had comfortable sofas with a coffee table, a balcony, bathroom, separate toilet and additional single bed underneath the staircase for our 8 years old daughter. The hotel had put a small parcel of games and chocolate in our daughter’s bed before we arrived. It was very thoughtful. The duplex room was very clean and the breakfasts were good. We used both the outdoor and indoor pools in the late afternoon when the temperature was too high to do anything else. The hotel was completely full while we were there, but we were always able to use either the indoor or outdoor pool without feeling they were too congested. The jacuzzi was overlooking the trees and was in a very beautiful setting. We had three meals in Vence (10-15 minutes walk or 5 mins drive from the hotel). The restaurant called Le Pigeonnier was very good and we tried some really authentic local dishes there. We also visited Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence, which had some good collections of modern art paintings and sculptures. Their sculptures were especially interesting. It is worth to visit for a couple of hours during a hot day when you are in the area. Saint-Paul de Vence village was very touristy. We only looked at a few art galleries and didn’t spend too much time there. We also visited Tourrettes-sur-Loup on a Friday morning, which we found to be a much nicer place to visit as it is smaller and less touristy. The ice cream shop in the old part of the village (sells violet flavoured ice cream) was not opened until 2:30pm in the afternoon and the cafe inside the old part of the village was also not open during our visit. I guess there are many old hilltop villages around Provence, so the smaller ones don’t always get the attention that they deserve!
