Hotel San Marco

I stayed here for 2 weeks for my birthday and enjoyed my stay. I received a lovely handwritten birthday message with a bottle of prosecco...a wonderful gesture and so appreciated. Comfortable stay and a quiet room with a window overlooking the canal. You have to lean out the window and down to see the gondolas going through. The actual view is of a building on the other side of the canal. The hotel is in a great location and being central it was easy to walk everywhere. I would recommend to put down that map and casually walk around and you'll always get to a bridge or the canal...and stop into the odd cafe or restaurant enroute. There were a couple of hiccups the first couple of days but the staff really helped and sorted out the slow air-conditioning and placed a kettle in the room. Everything was comfortable afterwards. POSITIVE: The breakfast was really great and much better than in the 4-star hotel where we stayed afterwards. Rooms very clean. Hotel very centrally located. NEUTRAL: When we arrived in the evening and asked if drinks could be bought here, we were referred to the associated "supermarket" next door. We were in this one before and asked where the hotel was. They had NO idea!! The market was closed and so I walked a good 100m to an ice cream parlour. On the day of departure we found the minibar with drinks. So we wouldn't have had to go out to buy drinks. NEGATIVE: We had frozen at night!! The so-called blanket was just a kind of better tablecloth and clearly much too thin given the low temperatures in the morning hours. It was also unfortunate that not each of us had a "blanket", but one together. If one curls up in the "blanket" at night, the other lies there without. Rooms without air conditioning. Up to this point I was willing to give the hotel three stars. BUT: A visitor's tax of 4.50 euros per day and person is a brazen rip-off!!! In our later 4-star hotel we paid 1.50 euros. So I only give 1 star.

Ideal location. 5 minutes walk from water bus drop off. Surprised the hotel doesn't have an iron for travellers. I also wouldn't pay €8 for the breakfast. There's nice cheap eateries within the streets. Around good experience

I couldn't complain about anything at this hotel. Room was very nice and clean, and had the same look as in the picture, with a window pointing to one of the small canals. The staff is very helpful, friendly and they speak good English and Spanish, possibly other languages too. The locations is only a few steps from San Marco square. Breakfast was good and cheap relative to city prices (we didn't have it included, but got it for a small fee). We definitely recommend this place.

Booked 2 rooms for a family of 4 people. My parents stayed in the room next to us and the AC in their room was not working. Similar problem had another group of friends staying in different room. Venice reaches 35-40 degrees celsius in Summer which is very hot and cannot cope without the AC. The stuff were polite, but not very helpful. Also there was a problem with the shower which was constantly changing from hot to cold. We paid in total €320 for a single night and I feel having problems with the AC is unacceptable for that amount of price.

A due minuti da Piazza San Marco, la struttura mostra i segni del tempo. Le stanze sono piccole, il letto non troppo comodo, i servizi accettabili. La colazione è discreta, anche se viene proposta non all'interno della struttura ma in un locale vicino, raggiungibile attraversando un vicoletto. Il prezzo è accettabile, in relazione alla posizione.

Super hôtel ! Idéalement situé, cet hôtel est charmant et propre ! Proche de toutes commodité (petit Spar juste en bas de l’hôtel, 1 min a pied de la place san Marco et de tous les restaurants). Nous avons passé une super semaine dans cet hôtel je recommande !

Ni se os ocurra madre mía parece de terror y huele mal el suelo desnivel de verdad ni se os ocurra estoy mala desde que entré con un olor a un perfume o algo malísimo, hay que decir que las chicas de recepción un encanto la verdad y la ubicación lo demás merece andar que está todo cerca la verdad

L albergo è pulito e le camere sono spaziose, è un po’ retró ma la posizione è veramente fantastica, sei a un passo da piazza San Marco! La colazione non è delle migliori ma comunque buona, il ristorante non L abbiamo provato. Consigliato!
