Me and my friend happened to arrive in Venice/Lido on the very day of the Italian celebration day of Liberation from Fascism. And the first ever day of tourist fee for day visitors, of which you could be pardoned if staying overnight in a registered hotel. The young lady at the reception counter was really trying to help us despite the terribly complicated app with which you were supposed to get rid of the fee. I think it took us (all three) at least 15-20 minutes, trying to figure out how it works... Well, anyways, it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is situated at one of the main streets in Lido; lots of restaurants nearby, and only a five minute walk to Vaporetto station. Decent hotel restaurant as well. Could certainly go again. And it was a funny coincidence, meeting the reception lady by St. Marco Square café!
