This review is hard for me to write because we did have a good time here. The views are stunning and the beach is almost deserted so it's very peaceful. Some of the staff (Paulino, Mario and John in particular) were really helpful and friendly. However, the hotel has serious issues and some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, which I wish I knew before I booked. I'll start with the biggest problem we experienced. On our last night, it rained heavily. We woke up to a terrible flood in our room and our belongings being soaked. We were up half the night worrying about the huge amount of water coming through the roof and moving our stuff around so it wasn't destroyed. We went to the manager the next morning and she laughed and said "these things happen, I cannot control the weather". We were very unhappy so she offered to wash and dry our clothes but we were leaving that morning so it wasn't possible. She didn't offer us any other compensation and said it had happened to the other guests, which we then found out was not true. We looked at the roof and could see there were patches that had clearly been damaged in the earlier flood and not repaired properly, but we were still given this room and not so much as warned when a storm was forecast. Completely unacceptable. Other issues we experienced - the hotel is listed as 4 star online but is actually 3 star when you arrive. When we booked it said there was a TV in every room with satellite channels, but our room didn't have one. We asked whether any room had a TV because we also couldn't get WiFi in the room, we were told there were no TVs anywhere. This was fine until other guests told us they had TVs. We asked the owner/manager and she tried to insist that wasn't true but finally admitted on our last day that the TV in our room had been removed due to flood damage earlier in the year. Honestly it was the principle of her lying about it to our faces that annoyed us more than anything. Shortly after the flooding incident our taxi to the airport was late and when we complained the manager laughed and said "don't get worked up about these things". We said it was a combination of a number of problems and she just kept smiling and saying "OK, put it in the review. Write it in your comment." I was honestly shocked at her attitude considering we had stayed there for 6 days, spent lots of money in the hotel and been nothing but friendly to all the staff. There were also some things that others have mentioned - it is very isolated so once you arrive you are stuck there and will not be able to visit the town at all, unless you have a 4x4. This means that you need to eat in the hotel's restaurant every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it's not cheap in comparison to local prices. The menu changes every day but as a vegetarian it was quite limited. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and no drinking water provided so all of that is extra too. There is nowhere to
