Hotel Karnerhof

The majority of rooms have been renovated. However our room had still not been renovated but was large and very comfortable with a large balcony and mountain / lake views. If the weather is good, the garden by the lake is beautiful and swimming in the lake is very pleasant. Unfortunately of the three days we were there, we only had one day of nice sunny weather. However the hotel has an indoor pool and a beautiful new outdoor infinity pool. Our only gripe was that the outdoor pool should be a little warmer, especially on days that there is no sun and the temperature drops. The dining room and terrace with the beautiful lake and mountain views was a pleasure. The food was decent. The staff were very friendly and speak English. The meals even include 4 o'clock coffee / cake on the terrace. We enjoyed our short stay here.

We stayed in this hotel for a wellness weekend and were very pleased with the experience. Although the weather was bad, the hotel offered enough content for us to be happy indoors. Here are the main points: 1) We had a standard double room. Although it was in the older part of the hotel, it was completely renovated and very spacious, with a large balcony and a really stunning lake view. The beds, pillows and blankets were very comfortable. There was enough warderobe space and sufficient coat hangers. The bathroom was roomy and modern. Good to know: there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, and we were not offered any help with the luggage on arrival. 2) There are two spa areas, an old one with an indoor pool, and a new one, beautifully designed, with a heated large outdoor infinity pool. The pool is some 20m long and wide enough for three people to swim in lanes next to each other. It is really quite the best hotel pool we've seen in Austrian hotels up to now, for people who like to swim and not only bathe. There are also spacious closed showers nearby, marvelously equipped with hangers and a stool (which other spas tend to forget). The saunas are beatiful. The addition of some aroma would be a nice touch. 3) The half-board option is great value for money, since the evening menu is truly excellent. We were not aware of the high culinary standard so we were very pleasantly surprised. Breakfast also had plenty of options. 4) A minus point is that the gym is very basic. There are four cardio machines of good quality, but they are unfortunately squeezed together in a small space (not good in terms of covid-related distancing). The "sports room" nearby is rather big and has only one prehistoric set of four gym machines. There are no proper dumbbells and no gym bench. Our advice to the hotel would be to place some of the cardio machines into this room and to get a proper set of dumbbells and a gym bench. That really does not involve huge investment. However, since the hotel has invested a lot in refurbishment, acquiring a small selection of really good gym machines would be a good idea. The current gym set up really drags down the impression of the hotel. Still, we decided not to reduce the overall number of review points on account of all the other facilities and the food quality. We will be happy to visit again and who knows - perhaps we'll find a pleasant surprise in the gym.

The Karnerhof is a lovely family run hotel right at the Faaker See. A beautiful, turquoise lake with a pleasant temperature, ideal for swimming. The modern hotel features clean, comfortable rooms, great beds and nice bathrooms. There is an indoor and outdoor restaurant, a bar, some evening evening entertainment (occasionally) a great and spacious indoor pool, jacuzzi and wellness area. Treatments are also available, massages at the beach and some beauty treatments upstairs in the beauty salon, although there was not much to chose from and the beauty salon did not seem to be fully open yet. Activities are plentiful, walking, hiking etc...nearby, row boats and stand up boards at the beach, 2 outdoor pools, hiring of the electric boat, table tennis, playground, biking and tennis next to the hotel. You will not go hungry here, the breakfast buffet it great, cold and hot options, you can order lunch at the restaurant or a snack at the beach bar or wait for the daily cake & coffee plus savoury dishes every day from 4pm. The evening meal is also first class, salad buffet, a la cart, cheese buffet,... Fine foods accompanied by an extensive wine list. Staff is very nice and efficient, special thanks to our lovely waiter Florian who took care of us every evening. The hotel is pricy enough but offers a lot. My only complaint is the occasional unfriendly personnel. The bar person in the evening is definitely under stress, something that translates to the customers and one receptionist lady needs to remember that this is an expensive 4 star hotel, even if the teenagers repeatedly locked themselves out of their room. No issue at all that something is said to them but please not in such a tone, even if you are annoyed. Everyone else was just wonderful! Great stay.

The Karnerhof is a large, typical Austrian lake hotel. Well positioned with it's own beach area, indoor and outdoor pools. All the amenities you'd expect for a lake hotel and spa. Reasonably sized room, with balcony and view over the lake. Very good food. Great breakfasts, and exceptionally good evening meals, all eaten on the terrace overlooking the lake when the weather is good. Our only criticism is that nowhere in the hotel. even in public areas is there any air conditioning. The rooms we're supplied with fans, so it was extremely hot in the summer.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen, mit wunderbaren Blick auf den Faaker See! Sehr liebevolle Gestaltung mit tollen Kunstobjekten....einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Spa Bereich NEU, sehr groß und mit ausreichend Liegemöglichkeiten ( Die bequemen Schaukeln sind sehr zu empfehlen)l.....Saunaaufgüsse ein TRAUM! Gelebte Gastfreundschaft in jedem Bereich ( Rezeption, Restaurant, und Bar) Unbedingt auf einen Bar Besuch bei Hr. Wolfgang .....er versteht die Leute zu unterhalten, und liebt seinen Beruf! Es wurde auf jeden Wunsch eingegangen Die einzige negative Kritik die ich ansprechen möchte, war der Nachmittagssnack. Leider keine Auswahl (Salate wären super) es wurde auch vom Personal nur zögerlich nachgebracht. Wir haben wunderschöne und gemütliche 3 Tage hier verbracht.

Wunderbares Hotel mit großartigem SPA, herrlichen Pools und bester Lage direkt neben dem Faarkersee und den allerbesten Aufgüssen mit musikalischer Begleitung. SeeSauna: spring in den See Ich denke die Eigentümer sind sehr kunstinteressiert. Überall in den Gängen werden Bilder und Kunstobjekte gezeigt. Das Personal ist serviceorientiert und freundlich.

Wir waren 3 Tage zum Entspannen und wurden überhaupt nicht enttäuscht. Ein toller und liebevoller SPA-Bereich lädt absolut zum Entspannen ein. Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich und herzlich. Das Essen und Weinauswahl war wirklich ausgezeichnet. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist äußerst umfangreich und sehr lecker. Das Hotel ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen für entspannende Tage mit tollem Ausblick auf den See und die Berglandschaft!

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden sogar jedes Mal mit dem Namen angesprochen. Es ist sehr positiv zu bewerten, dass die Besitzer immer vor Ort sind und an der Rezeption oder im Speisesaal mitarbeiten. Das Essen ist vorzüglich und die Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet ist riesig. Der SPA-Bereich ist liebevoll gestaltet und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Leider scheint es einigen Gästen entgangen sein, dass es sich da um eine Ruhezone handelt. Außergewöhnlich beeindruckt war ich vom riesigen Angebot an Fitnessmöglichkeiten. So kann man Regentage sehr abwechslungsreich überbrücken. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Das Hotel, das wir 1999 zum ersten Mal besuchten hat sich in seiner Qualität nicht verändert. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals ist geblieben, es gibt eigentlich nie die Antwort " es geht nicht oder das gibt es nicht", sondern "wir machen das schon". Hervorragend von viele ist der Restaurationsleiter Herr Egger, der jeden Gast mit Namen anspricht, was heute nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist. Das Essen ist auf hohen Niveau. Das neue Aussenbecken, das von Innen über eine Schleuse reicht wird, ist besonders morgens mit Ausblick auf die Berge unbeschreiblich Der einzige negative ist die Entfernung von 1000 km von meinem Wohnort.
