My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early June, ‘23. The location is very good once you’re there, but access by car can be tricky. There is no place to drop your luggage in front of the hotel, and instead the hotel suggests parking in Area #1 (an underground facility) then rolling your luggage through a couple of streets to the hotel, about 200 meters total with slight inclines. Unfortunately our car gps had difficulty locating the #1 parking garage and we wound up parking elsewhere, walking to the hotel, then moving the car and then transferring our luggage afterwards. The In is on a picturesque street in the historic section, just a short walk from the main square, and close to shops and restaurants (the hotel staff was very helpful in making recommendations). Another note on access is that although there is an elevator, reaching many rooms requires at least one short flight of stairs. In our case (room 403) we had to go down two flights from the elevator. Rooms 201-203 and 301-303 are level with the elevator, but at least one of them has stairs inside the room itself. Those with mobility issues might want to take this into consideration. The hotel interior is cute and stylishly decorated. The small lobby has a bar and a breakfast room to the rear. Our room (403) was very large and attractive, with an alcove that had a desk, a small fridge, and an upholstered chair. There was a comfortable king bed with two night stands and outlets nearby, and an armoire. The room also had a small terrace that would be pleasant during warmer weather. Storage space was limited in the room, but there was plenty of room for open suitcases. The large and attractive bathroom had a shower, bidet, and an open-base vanity with a small amount of counter space. Two shortcomings of the room is that the water took a long time to get warm and never got truly hot. Also, the room was quite cool at this time of year, and the radiators didn’t seem to be functioning. We were warm once in bed, however, with the help of the arctic-rated duvet, The breakfast area was cute but somewhat cramped. The selection was pretty good, with some fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs (others could be ordered), breakfast meats, and a small selection of breads and pastries. We recommend the Volterra In, with the reservations noted above.
