Fantastic hotel; super friendly staff; facsinating history! Very child staff! I stayed in this hotel following a long hike with my 8-yr old daughter. We got a beautiful amazing room named after one of the heroes of freedom

The room was perfect, the bed and pillows so soft and warm. The bathroom huge and modern. Clean and comfortable, we will come back!!! A historical place, a freedom symbol. Easy to go everywhere by foot and by car.Close to the city centre but quiet and silent to relax , read or sleep.

Beautiful hotel and room. De restaurant is great, we had a very nice diner and breakfast. The history of the hotel is so interesting. Though we had a problem with the sink in our room which was leaking and they could not manage to repair it during our stay. We do not like all the sms’s you get. Natural contact between the reception and us as guest is preferable.

Hotel De Wereld is an excellent hotel with comfortable rooms, excellent service and good food. But what makes it unique is that it has embraced its historical significance (the Germans surrendered the Netherlands here in May 1945) with themed rooms dedicated to a freedom fighter. We stayed in the ML King Jr room with pictures of ML King, his family, and the March on Washington. You can even listen to his famous “I have a dream” speech while sitting on the toilet! This made our stay more than just a comfortable one, but a profound one as we reflected on the meaning of freedom then and now, here and there.

My daughter and I loved the history & atmosphere of the hotel; the really warm hospitality; excellent breakfast; and our amazing Mahatma Gandhi room made it a really memorable experience! It’s very conveniently located, too.

We are in Wageningen three times a year and always stay at the Hotel de Wereld. It is a small hotel and the service is really, really top notch. There are two nice restaurants as part of the operation, and a wondcerful outside patio area with one fo them. Special requests are not a problem. The rooms are light, and with high ceilings, and each has its own unique character.. It is well heated in the winter and the rooms have AC for hotter days at other times of the year. Each room has a mini-fridge which is a must in our book. The location is great too--convenient to the many shops and restaurants in this delightful town--and also an easy walk to amazing arboreuteums (Belmonte and at Het Depot). There is a great natural food store--Odin--a 30 second walk from the hotel entrance. In sum, a ddlightful place to stay.

Lovely characteristic hotel with a helpful, friendly team. My room was delightfully unique - dedicated to Pippi Longstocking, with fabulous quirky details. Aside from that it was spacious and we'll appointed

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel de Wereld! Love the historical significance of the building and the educational information placed throughout the hotel. We even had a lovely themed room! But best of all was the service. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and accommodating in everything from offering suggestions for breakfast to helping us plan our transportation around town

Hotel is famous as the place where the German army in the Netherlands surrendered at the end of WWII and is filled with pictures and information about the event. I had a very large room. Each room has a theme built around a hero. Mine was Florence Nightingale. There was a lot of information about her. Hotel has an excellent restaurant. There is a small air conditioning unit that was not quite up to the task of cooling this room in 30 degree heat, but that is the best I have come to expect in Europe.
