Unfortunately my mother had to stay over for Christmas with one of her elderly client. So my sister and I decided to stay at a hotel closest to her. My experience was not very good mostly. I went early to inquire about early check in and the person at the front was extremely rude, she literally insulted me not in her unavailability but how she responded. We went away and came back later that evening Christmas Eve so we could get to have an early evening as a family and open gift since my mom got a few hr break. The person who checked me in was very pleasant and could see I was exhausted and was very kind. The following morning of check out I went asked the front for a late check out, he agreed to 12:30pm. Upon packing to exit the room at 12:13pm someone knocked on the door and started yelling at us for not having exited the room at 12. We explained we spoke to a member of staff and was granted check out at 12:30 and are in fact packing our car to leave. She then asked who would do that since she’s the only one who could approve this. (Clearly that’s not our problem, we are guests) this is an internal issue and best handled in private. She was very rude of which I told her.
A phone call to check in with us would have been more appropriate than to come pounding on the door as though we aren’t welcomed or paying guests. This has been the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Customer service was the worst. The walls had brown smudges and the sheets are thin not nearly warm
