This was an exceptional stay among the many destinations we have had in Victoria this month. We will definitely stay again & 100% recommend this location, not only for Christine, who was an excellent host, very attentive and helpful but also the quality of the stay. We had Room 25 and this was at the end of the corridor. Everything in the room was spotlessly clean and there was everything that we needed. The location, although not serving lunch or dinner is close to Warburton and locations such as Alpine Hotel as a typical pub, Babaji's for Indian dishes from Kerala, Little Joes for Pizza can offer great choices. The location is also close to the Lilydale-Warburton Rail Trail if you need some exercise. The breakfast, coffees and hot dishes are made to order and did not disappoint. The property is located in a beautiful location, along the banks of the River Yarra. There are communal spaces to play pool, relax, share drinks, watch TV, etc. if those are desired.

I will be back. Brilliant location for exploring the quaint country towns of the Yarra area. The owner, Christine, was so welcoming and beautifully accommodated our crazy hour of arrival and late night grazing board needs. Breakfast was abusively delightful. The room clean, comfortable, and well laid out with a great little private verandah to enjoy the mountains and trees. The main outdoor deck overlooks a green landscape of big old trees and a lovely river running through. Be a great couples getaway, friendly, romantic, private. 🫶

Stayed at this beautiful place as part of a wedding party. Aside from the property itself being gorgeous and appropriately outfitted for a place of this age (expect some things a little rustic, thats the charm!) the hosts make the stay amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and no question too intimidating (not even what boards did you use on your decking!) Amazing trees in a beautiful lawn facing onto the yarra river. Will be back.

Excellent private location which backs on to the river. Great place for exploring the Yarra Valley. Close to the hamlet of Warburton with its cycle/walking path on the old railway. Christine who manages the hotel is a mine of useful information telling us about quality family wineries which we would otherwise have passed by. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day of wine tasting! 👍

We have just had our second trip to Oscar’s on the Yarra and loves every minute of it! To arrive to the peaceful, beautiful grounds again and be greeted warmly by Christine was just lovely. I felt myself relax walking through the doors! The rooms are beautiful. The bed and bedding fabulous. To sit out on the balcony and have an excellent coffee watching and listening to the river and looking at the magnificent trees was so relaxing. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious, service excellent. The toiletries from Warbotannicals were a treat and we went to their shop in Warburton to purchase some. Dinner and the Alpine hotel was very good and do visit Cabin and Co homewares on Warburton. Looking forward to our next stay with Christine at Oscars in the near future !

My partner and I had the most relaxing weekend stay at Oscar's. Christine went over and above to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We were warm, the beds were comfortable and the brekkie was delicious. The view from our room was incredible - an absolute highlight for both of us. We will 100% be returning!

Delightful weekend away with friends. Amazing hosts Christine, Kate n family made our stay feel welcome and memorable. They accommodated our little birthday celebration at late hours of the day. Charming Victorian building, terraces overlooking Yarra River. Get room with river. Warburton and surrounding walks and local pubs were worth a visit as well as fresh trout farm next door.

Christine and family were wonderful hosts during our stay. They were very hospitable and engaging with us throughout our stay. Our room was inviting when we arrived and the bed was super comfortable. Having breakfast included was a special treat and the barista made coffee just topped it off! We would certainly recommend Oscar's and look forward to future visits. Kaye and Tony

POSITIVES: 1. Nice location - out of town, on the bank of Yarra River. 2. Friendly and helpful host. 3.Free WiFi. 4. Breakfast included in the room price, made to order by the host. 5. Reverse cycle A/C. 6. Small fridge, kettle, tea and coffee in the room. 7. Small flat screen TV. 8. Toiletries were provided. 9. Everything was well maintained and clean. NEGATIVES: 1. Standard Double room was a little small for two people with luggage. 2. No electric blanket on the bed. 3. It was difficult to get any warmth into the bathroom. 4. Central heating was switched on the second night, but it was just luke warm.
