Imperial Hotel

The hotel does not reflect the advert placed on *********** and therefore should be taken down and revised because its misleading and incorrect. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was awful, we were greeted by rowdy unsavoury  punters loitering around the front doorway, obviously drinking, but smoking, shouting and clearly blocking the entrance with reluctance to step aside for us, no regards to us trying to get through with luggage in their hands. Once handed a key to our room, we were led up an unlit stairway through a door  (that could be accessed by anyone) which led towards a further staircase, also unlit and a clear health and safety hazard. The landing area was far below any basic standards, with a microwave balancing on a book shelf type of unit which was facing two open shower cubicles and a WC, again health and safety wasn't considered here! As for the facilities.. basic hygiene was clearly a miss, the cubicles were filthy and had remains of previous tenants usages, I took some photos as i couldn't believe what was seeing especially following a pandemic outbreak of covid-19.. safety principles were equally missed even on a very basic level here. My partner and i couldn't believe what we'd actually paid for, we felt like we'd walked into a ghetto and not the calming quiet place that we'd expected.  Completely disgusted, I put the key back in the door and left via the fire exit as instructed to earlier by the bar staff.. which again was unlit, dangerous and led to overfilled wheely bins and uneven rubble on the floor.. such a horrible although brief experience that we would never return to!
