Brazos Bed and Breakfast

Took my high school senior son to Aggieland and I was surprised how much he enjoyed the Brazos and wanted to capture the memories. The room was super comfy, roomy and clean. Make sure to say to the chickens :) Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful experience at Diane and Villard's Brazos B&B during a weekend of lovely winter weather. The land on which the B&B is situated is so nice. The rays of a sunset or the early morning sunshine is so warming, golden even, through the limbs of their live oaks. It set the tone for a relaxing weekend, which we were SO in need of! We received a warm welcome from Diane. She showed us the lay of the land, pointing out guides for the area and their personal recommendations for restaurants. The outdoor hot tub was appealing with the lovely view of garden, trees and pasture. Our private patio had a table for two to enjoy a meal. A grill is nearby, ready for use for a hamburger or steak dinner. The sitting area had very comfortable seating around the fire pit. (We enjoyed a nice fire one night and loved the clear skies with so many stars. Delightful!) Diane also showed us the cottage's special armoire. They redesigned the interior so nicely as a kitchenette with mini- fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, sink and space for a few spices. The nearby buffet stores plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery and linens, everything you might need for a grilled dinner in or snacks during the stay. The table was prepped for two with flowers, chilled wine, cheese, crackers and fruit. Diane's breakfasts are amazing! One morning we had heart-shaped pancakes, scrambled eggs, meaty bacon, fruit and yogurt. Coffee and OJ was there to accompany this splendid meal! Another morning we had delicious muffins, frittata and fruit. These meals were one of the most special parts of our visit, especially with the kindness of Diane and Villard bringing the breakfast to our room on a lovely tray with flowers. Very special! We enjoyed having access to the Olympics during our weekend as well as having Apple TV so that we could AirPlay a morning workout. Additional exercise is available with hikes around the property. We slept so well on the comfortable bed, with special copper pillows. The cottage has a very large bathroom. It contains a separate WC, walk-in shower, double sinks and large jacuzzi tub. The hosts have thought of everything! Lastly, not only did the hosts think of everything, but they ask what we would like as far as seasoning on food, and what improvements we might suggest. It's rare to have such thoughtful care. What a blessing they have given us and I'm sure they extend the same to all who visit. We want very much hope to have a repeat visit!!!

We stayed at this lovely place in the country as our home-away-from-home during the Round Top Fall Antiques Show last October. Diane Hunter and her husband, Villard, were the most gracious hosts, salting our first evening "home" w/wine and cookies. They delivered delightful breakfasts each morning, two by the porch of our aerie and once, during a rainstorm, by the interior stairs from their home. The suite was beautifully appointed, with interesting books, TV for World Series games, and pillows for every taste. This was out perch for the Birthplace of Texas, an art gallery and a brew pub in Brenham, a garden center and restaurant in Navasota, the GHW Bush Presidential Library in College Station and the Messina Hof Winery in Bryan, as well as the antiques show 45 minutes up the road. An amazing week, thanks in large part to this tree-house-like comfort zone. Highly recommend.

After more than 40 years of million mile travel and thousands of B&B nights BBB tops my list. Mostly it is the concern of the hosts. Your comfort is paramount. A lovely setting, excellent creature comforts are part of it but the honest caring and over the top interest in your stay makes it very special. We will be back!
