Virgin Islands Campground

We will be back. I LOVED our screened-in cabin. The common spaces (kitchen and bathhouse) were clean and had everything we needed. Jason is an exceptional host. If you have questions just ask him. Very quiet. You can feel the ocean breeze and the sounds of nature.

My wife and I loved Water Island. This a wonderful Island to walk and explore with stunning views of the ocean, beach, gorgeous flowers. There is lovely white sand beach, with crystal clear water. My wife and I plan to come back. However, I would not recommend it to everyone. 1) My wife and I liked getting to know the locals (there are only 140 in the island). As there is only one store, one bar, and one place to eat lunch. You will get to know the locals and their dogs. We found everyone friendly but it a small world. 2) There is a ferry that runs to island from 6 am - 6 PM. The ride which last 10 minutes over very lovely but you are not going to be staying out late on ST Thomas. As everything get pitch black, really early, your not missing much of the natural beauty . .but, if you want night live the island is not the place. 3) You will be doing cooking on Virgin Island camprground, as there are not real options - the food at the One bar and grill is so-so and expensive. The public outdoor kitchen has two burners, a bbz and a sink and is well equipped. I enjoyed cooking there. Jason - the owner of the campground is friendly and helpful.

our host and campground owner was SUPER! He accomodated our every request promptly. A friendly easy going cool Dude! The communal kitchen was really accomdating with every need right there. The Bedding was top of the line and pillows super fluffy and comfortable. Great towels and clean bathroom/showers. Reading lights at head of bed a nice touch! Roomy tent with nice patio. Good screens kept the bugs out. Amazing views. Really like glamping!!

This is literally my happy place. Jason & Coral are amazing hosts. The renovations to the cabins are great and the common areas are always clean and well-kept. You can't beat falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves and birds. Can't wait to go back!

Very cool and absolutely gorgeous! I've never been to St. Thomas/Water Island and I just wasn't expecting the dramatic views and multiple of small periphery islands which gives a mini SE Asian vibe. Water Island itself is seemingly a big spread out resort (in a community way not quantity of people) in itself where you familiarize with the (very friendly) locals quickly. I really enjoyed talking with Jason and the other guests as well so all in all it turned out to be a great long weekend trip.

Virgin Islands Campground was simply the best- don't let campground fool you, they have 8 buildings that are are a cross between a cabin and a platform tent. Lots of screens to let air flow through, views of the water and privacy from other "campers". The open air kitchen is very well equipped, and you have your own small fridge for your food and a cupboard with dishes for you. Once you take the ferry over, you're picked up and driven the short distance to the campground. While you can rent a golf cart, we didn't, and enjoyed walking around the island to see the fort. With two beaches within a 10 minute walk of the place, you're well placed to enjoy a beach day regardless of the direction of the wind. This had been our first trip to the Carribean, and now are eager to return to stay at the campground again.
