Budget Host Airport Inn

The staff at Budget Host in Waterville, Maine was very friendly and accommodating; that goes for both the younger gentleman working at the desk in the evening and the older gentleman (the owner?) working at the desk in the morning. However, the maintenance staff really needs to do a deep cleaning: the back of the door into my guest room was very dirty; the light switch next to that door was very dirty; the outlet and light switch next to the sink were very dirty, as was the cord from the hair dryer to the outlet. It wouldn't take that long to give those things a thorough cleaning, which they desperately need. The bed and bedding were very clean and comfortable. I must also add that the enormous BUDGET HOST sign near the street is awful, and it has been like that for many years. I suggest that it be repaired or taken down. It doesn't say good things about the management and ownership that that sign has been neglected for that long.

The property is basic but it was very clean with a frig and micro. Breakfast was stopped due to Covid and has not been reinstated.

OVERWHELMING deodorant odor masking heavy tobacco smoke residue in room. Opening the window didn't help. Disgusting!!!

Booked here for a nearby dog event, and called in advance to confirm the dog friendly room. On arrival they hit me with a $100 dog charge which negated the savings for the room. Motel is pretty run down and crappy, which I'll put up with for the right price.Others at my dog event stayed at much nicer motels for the same cost. Won't make this mistake again.

The young man at front desk made a minimal effort to make you feel welcome or make any accommodations to make our stay and enjoyable one.

older hotel. adequate. bit noisy but bed good. hot water quickly. i'd come again.

The major problem was that the floor (carpeting) was moist and there was a pervasive smell of insecticide or harsh cleaning products. We have stayed here a few years ago and this was not our experience at that time. Perhaps we just stayed on the wrong day this time.

Bed was dirty. No Continental breakfast as advertised on website. Didn’t make bed everyday. They moved personal affects. Front desk woman not friendly. Phones in room barely work. Long term guests harassed us. Door to building was open the entire time of our stay. Room door stuck, had to force door open. No menus or anything to eat or site see. Cigarette smoke in hallway…thought it was non-smoking? Not very welcoming.

This property needs a lot of work. Would not stay here again. Sorry! ☹️☹️
