Hi-Lo Motel, Cafe and RV Park

Very disappointed. This place used to be to be really great to stay. The price is good, location is good and has restaurants within walking distance. But, the maid service is terrible, if any! I had to go to the front desk twice to get clean towels after working all day and finding my room had not been touched. The new owners are really letting this place go! Probably won’t stay here anymore.

We arrived late into **** on a road trip to Reno. Due to the fire season we knew hotels would be limited. Upon arrival we found a hotel that had two rooms left but couldn't check in right away because the staff was on break. This was fine but I did ask for a rough idea of cost for the room. I was told around 117 but then came back to check in and was charged 230. I was shocked but it was late and was needing a room for the night. Once we got in the room we found 3 bulbs burnt-out in the main area. I made note an thought I would just let the staff know in the morning so they could fix it for the next guest. I think the straw that broke my back was when I went to climb into bed. I was surprised to see stains hair and thread barron sheets. I went to the desk and asked for new sheets only to be given undersized sheets that would not fix the bed. Being 11 pm at night I just ****** it up and went to bed. In the morning I went to the front desk to let them know about my experience. The front desk staff was kind and understanding. It was when they called the owner on what to do that it all came to light why the hotel is like this. He gave ma 20 dollar discount and then brush me off by saying he would look into it and get back to me. A week later nothing. So I phone 2x and finally got a hold of him . I was told that the sheet are normal and that I got what he felt was right. I have uploaded pictures of the normal sheet. Please keep in mind that the staff is working with what the owner will give them. Staff in the morning wonderful. The owner is a cheap greedy business owner.

Solo trip on a Saturday to meet with family. My first time staying at Hi-Lo Motel. I was pleasantly surprised! The room was so much cleaner than other motels in the area! The bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and I had plenty of hot water. The staff were wonderful! I'll definitely stay again on my next trip to ****.

After long drive from Washington State we chose ****, CA to be mid point. Had eaten at HI Lo Cafe on another trip so chose the motel to stay at with our dog. Room was comfortable, beds were great. Standing shower was another plus. We only stayed one night, but will stay again in future. Beautiful view of Mt Shasta out the back drive of hotel.

Was awesome meeting up with the owner after over 40 years ago renting from her. Enjoyed seeing her again. Love what she has done to the property. The RV park is an awesome upgrade. Also visited a friend whom had just been diagnosed with Covid. Brought him breakfast from the Cafe which he thoroughly enjoyed. He lives right there in **** too.

we only stayed one night there and it was the best motel experience I had ever had, the Cafe was amazing and with the stay we got free soda,coffee, and tea. The staff there was amazing, Shawn did a amazing job cleaning quick and attended us as fast as he could at the cafe. The lady at the front desk with the English accent (sorry can't remember name) was so friendly and helpful when we needed things. Would 100% recommend and would stay again!!
