Farmers Guest House

Extremely attentive and hospitable owners. We had allergies and they accommodated them so well. They included wine, cheese, and crackers every day and brought lactose free cheese. They got dairy-free creamer for all the coffees and made special cookies without chocolate chips for us because of our chocolate allergy. The Julia suite was spacious and lovely, clean and comfy. Thermostat worked perfectly and fireplace was a great feature. The breakfasts were all really delicious. The location is great and we will definitely come back. We had an after-hours check in and the experience was very smooth.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Farmers Guest House. The homemade breakfasts and other treats were delicious! The hosts were all so friendly and helpful with our questions. The location was great as we didn't want to do much driving. The bed was very comfortable too. We would highly recommend this B and B to others visiting Galena.

We are not typically bed and breakfast people but we booked at the Farmers Guest House. We have never been to Galena before and I liked the idea of the location so we could easily walk to main street and not have to drive or deal with parking. Mark, Luke and Elaine were very gracious hosts. I appreciated the call before our arrival updating us on arrival time and parking. The included breakfasts were very delicious. If you go, make sure to check out the upstairs patio and garden. Things were so beautiful when we were there. Our suite was spacious, filled with old charm and a bit pricey but then I am not an experienced B+B guest. There was mention of "wine time" in the advertising I had read. I was a little disappointed in the wine choices for the included bottle for each night. I had expected something more interesting than Sutter Home. But it is hard to please everyone and wine is a very personal choice. We enjoyed our time and would recommend it.

Everything was perfect. The owners are extremely accommodating, the property was immaculate, food and hospitality was top notch; basically it couldn’t have been better. I’m not normally one to leave a review, but the experience requires it. All in all, I couldn’t have been happier.

With an ethos of making a stay at the Farmers Guest House (FGH) a truly relaxing and enjoyable break for their customers, Mark, Luke and Eileen go to extraordinary lengths to fulfill that promise. From the moment one steps in to FGH there seems to be nothing that is too much trouble for them. We had the pleasure of experiencing the Charlotte Suite which was immaculately clean and comfortable. In the fridge was a cute cheese tray and crackers and supplied wine to suit, all of which could be enjoyed in the privacy of one's room or in the lovely social areas. Our bed and pillows were so comfortable, my wife tried to find out where they source their mattress and sheets. The piece de resistance however has to be the breakfast which was the perfect combination of sweet and savory and definitely more than sufficient to start the day off perfectly. Add to that, complimentary orange juice and champagne for a delicious mimosa should one desire it. FGH is also perfectly located for a short walk to Main Street with an abundance of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Our favorite of this trip was Fried Green Tomatoes where we enjoyed a superb meal. This was our first stay at the Farmers Guest House however before we left we made sure to make a reservation in a couple of months and we cannot wait to see what culinary delights the team puts forth for breakfast. We highly recommend this establishment (if you hadn't already guessed!!!!!)

This B & B is amazing! Mark, Luke & Elaine are just awesome & really made our stay special. And the breakfast is amazing - including the gluten free meals! Every afternoon they offer wine time - with fresh cheese and cracker packs. The location to the Main Street shopping and restaurants is super convenient. We loved it and already booked our return trip!

We picked Farmers Guest House to celebrate our 30th anniversary and could not be happier. Extremely easy to check in, warmly greeted and everything we needed was there. This location is very close to downtown and a 5 minute walk to where it's all happening. And the breakfasts; amazing! Great variety, fresh local ingredients, served with a smile by attentive folks. It made us look forward to every morning, but plan accordingly as the portions and variety are a full meal! Breakfast is served in a great room with original features and modern touches. Huge windows let you enjoy the day and everything was just where we needed. Talking with the owner was a highlight of our stay. He was unassuming but very engaging and we shared some great conversation over a wide variety of topics. It's clear he cares a great deal not just about his customers but the community and world. We stayed in the Charlotte Suite, just off the dining area on the main floor and it was awesome. Lots of room, the fireplace was welcome during our early February visit, and the bed and furnishings were very comfortable. If you're looking for a great place to spend some time in Galena, this is the one.

We loved staying at the Farmer’s Guest House! Great location to Main Street, wonderful breakfast each day, and such great hospitality from Luke, Elaine, and Mark! Our room was very spacious, clean, and nice! We stayed in Julia! Would definitely stay here again!

Our first stay at a bed and breakfast. It was a delightful stay. It met all our expectations for a new experience. We will refer our families and friends. We will definitely come again when we come to Galena again.
