The Harcourt Arms

Firstly, the artwork throughout the place is gorgeously curated! We had the steak frittes & the fish and chips, both were something special, all house-made and flavoursome. Had a couple of wonderful red wines too. Staff were friendly and attentive.

We stayed here for the first time in the suite, The Blenheim, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room is spacious and very comfortable with a lovely four-poster bed. The shower is roomy and hot! And the hotel has excellent wi-fi / streaming service. The only downside was the heating was not working in the room and neither was the towel radiator in the bathroom. One of the very helpful staff did try to reset the thermostat in the room, but that evidently requires a degree in quantum mechanics so his efforts didn’t get us very far. In the end we plugged in the space heater next to the sofa and grabbed the enormous fleecy blanket from the bed to bundle up in and watch TV from the couch and were very cosy. The bed is super comfortable too. The Blenheim room is right over the bar / restaurant so if it’s a busy night you may hear a little noise or music from downstairs, but this will end around 11pm at the latest. The food is great, the breakfasts very generous and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

We were only here for one night. We used it as a base to get into Oxford on both days. It was all perfect. We were very well looked after. We had a lovely room. The breakfast was great. Absolutely no complaints and we have it on our list to return to at some point.
