The cottages were a great central place to stay in Willunga. The host was fantastic and friendly, the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was really comfortable and the continental breakfast was fantastic, especially the sourdough loaf and the fresh juice.

Hosts were helpfully communicative before and during our stay without being intrusive in any way. Wonderful to come into the scrupulously clean, warm, slightly scented room with music playing lightly in the background. Comfy sleep on queen beds and bathroom heater with separate toilet all added to the comfort. Greeted also by a home made cobb loaf and fruits. Definitely stay here again the next time we are thru. Thank you Shane and Louise...outstanding hosts!

We booked and paid for a Cottage Room which looked very impressive on the website and on a physical inspection. However because the 2 Cottage Rooms were already occupied, we were accommodated in a small motel style room attached to the owners' house. The facilities in this room were not a patch on the Cottage Rooms and the room was at best a $100 a night room. When we complained to the owner about him misrepresenting this room as a Cottage Room, he was abusive and slammed the door in our face. Our advice is "Make sure you have been allocated to a Cottage Room, or give it a miss".

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at 1839, certainly plan to come back . The hosts were fantastic nothing was too much . We had the largest unit with kitchen and bedroom ,plenty of room , the smaller one is great and that can be rented out for 1 night . It is so close to everything and sure a huge choice of eating places , can certainly recommend the Niagara chicken wings from Shifty lizards next door , they did takeaway for us . Could not be happier loved our stay

I needed one nights accommodation in Willunga and picked 1839 Cottages. Didn't really notice that it was a B&B when I booked it. Contacted by the owner prior to my arrival to ensure access and arrived to find a great cottage. The room had been prepared and was warm, music was playing, and there was a fruit bowl to nibble at before dinner. Owner came in a bit later, apologising that he had not left the sourdough bread for tomorrows breakfast. The room was great, wifi worked just fine, there was nothing left wanting. Very spacious, very comfortable, I really loved the place and would stay there again.

Extremely friendly and obliging staff, Room was very clean and well presented. Breakfast was yummy. Bed was very comfy Requested to check in early, which they allowed. Quiet location Free Carpark on site, was a little tight for a big vehicle. Would definitely stay here again
