Wilson Lake Inn

Wilson Lake Inn has a hometown feel with big-hotel standards of cleanliness, service, and amenities. The staff appears to treat each other like family, which only enhances visitors' stays.

It's a charming motel with comfortable rooms on Wilson Lake. There is an excellent Italian restaurant down the street where we enjoyed a delicious dinner. It's a bit pricey but lovely.

Nice property overall. The room was clean except for something black in the sink. Maybe mascara? The drain was slow to that sink so that might be part of the problem. I just wiped it up with a wash cloth. Our outside door upper hinge was broken like someone had attempted to force open the door. I don’t think it happened during our stay. The other hinges were intact so the door locked okay. The lake was beautiful. The grounds were well manicured. We were visiting our son at UMF. It’s about 15 minutes from the university. Given the poor selection of property choices in Farmington this was a good option. Overall we would stay here again.

So very nice to be able to walk the garden area and down to the lake. Awesome views. A little trouble in the room, refrigerator wasn’t cleaned out from previous guest BUT when I reported, was cleaned promptly and properly and with a lot of sorries. My point to the story; IF anything is wrong, they are Johnny on the spot!!!!

Book a second story room. Our previous stays have been 5 star, in much nicer rooms on the second floor. This time we were in a ground floor room close to the office. We couldn't sleep in the same bed because only one side was accessible. The other was up against the wall. One bed had a hair on/in the bedspread. The carpet was so grimy my partner had to wipe off her feet before putting on socks & shoes just from walking from the shower to the bed. The towel used was no longer white. The hot water didn't last long enough for a normal shower, luke warm by the time I was rinsing the conditioner out of my hair. I did enjoy the early morning kayaking with the loons. But between the ungodly heat wave and the icky feeling room we went home a day early.

I was very disappointed in the Wilson Lake Inn I have been thinking about booking a room there for a while because I have been coming to the Franklin County area for years and know the area very well. We had booked a room online and thought we had booked a 1st floor room because we both have a physical disability and can't get up stairs very well. But when we got there to check on our room reservation they told us we had a 2nd floor room which I wasn't very happy about but it was to late to cancel our room reservation so we had to take the room. Because it had been rainy in the area we couldn't enjoy the lake because the grass was very wet. Well once we got settled into the room we turned on the air conditioner and it was very loud the ceiling fan in the bathroom was very loud too. The ceiling over the bathtub was very low and so was the shower head I am 5/10 and the shower head was to low for me. We didn't have hot water for our showers in the morning it would go in and out with the cold water. we tried to get the cable/ satellite tv but could only get streaming channel so we couldn't get local channels for news and weather. AS I said in the title in my review. The worst place I have ever stayed in and would never go back or recommend it to anyone. Plus they have no kind of breakfast in the morning and their website is confusing about rooms about what floors they are on. And the pictures of the rooms are old and not reason pictures.
