Park Hotel Winterthur

Very friendly staff, free minibar, water bottle offered when leaving. Comfortable room, clean bathroom. Only difficult point is the QR-code for WiFi, which is not possible to access with a laptop, only with a mobile phone when connected to 4G.

Great hotel with short walk on well lit footpaths from Winterthur train station. 18 min connection to Zurich airport with frequent trains. Have stayed a couple of times so I believe fully worth the visit and intend to return.

My first time in Winterthur (or Winti as people often now say) was in 1966-67 as an exchange student in the Oberrealschule there. I have been back periodically in the intervening half century (!!) to see how the old town has changed. And it has, surely, much more modern and hip than it was back then. But this hotel has remained a solid first class business-style hotel for all that time (my parents stayed here in '67, so that is the reference point). The rooms are comfortable, beds fine, the bathrooms very nice and in general, everything one expects in a business-focused hotel, including good breakfasts (which one finds all over Switzerland) and a nice restaurant in which tables can be found in the garden in clean weather. It is a 10 min walk up a main street from the train station or a city bus has a stop right outside. It is not a 'quaint' hotel but one in which one can immediately relax.

This hotel has a great location, great staff and rooms. Convenient to train, Zurich, Rhine Falls, St. Gallen and Technorama. The breakfast in the restaurant is also wonderful. One thing of note - check in closes at 10pm. We came in on a late flight and I hadn’t noticed it (the hotel states it, I just assumed check in was 24 hours) and it was a little challenging getting in and to our room. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

This was good hotel pick. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend and stay here again. English-speaking staff were throughout the hotel. It's located one block over from a multitude of shops, cafes, and restaurants. There was even a outside free concert for 2 days with great music. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. The train station is about half a mile away. Please take the train in from the airport as my the taxi arranged by the hotel cost $200 USD. I later found out I could have taken one train ride in for $13. I stayed in room 202. It had a great view of the outdoor on-site restaurant, with a comfortable bed, and updated bathroom. The complimentary beverages in the fridge were much appreciated. The housekeeping was exceptional. I would have appreciated an outdoor space to sit out and enjoy the great weather. The room came with a very large glass sliding door but without a screen to shield the room from bugs and the many birds. This was only 1 of the 2 things I found fault. The other was a personal preference. The onsite restaurant had a very good free breakfast with lots of variety. I did not like the dinner menu. I ordered the bass one evening and was not impressed with the taste or portion size. It was dry and not seasoned well. The service on that evening was lacking, however, I ordered take-away on another evening and was well-pleased. I sat at the bar and had a glass of sweet white and excellent conversation with the server while waiting for my hamburger and fries. Both were amazing. So much so I went back on another evening to order the hamburger and fries again, but, sadly it was not being offered that evening. I paid an additional 39 CHF to check in at 7:00 am with the check-in a pleasant experience. The check-out went just as smooth. I walked the 4 blocks and hopped on the train to the airport. I have already made plans to return,

Absolutely LOVE this little hotel and stay there regularly when I visit family in Winterthur. Nice breakfast, great friendly service, clean and comfortable rooms, parking and other amenities. Lovely restaurant and bar. Convenient location. All good, highly recommend.

Overall wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and greeted us with a smile every day. 5/5 rating from us!

Very kind stuff (Especially Siral, Lina in the front disc, she helped me many times and always smile and helpful) , amazing location and view.. cleaness and cozy. Liked it so much.. Hope to be there soon again.
