You can enjoy the entire scenic spot to yourself in the evening and morning. The best scenery is on the road. . The hotel is very close to Labrang Monastery and you can walk there. The room price of about 400 in the off-season is acceptable, and it also comes with breakfast. . The interior of the room is a relatively old-school business hotel configuration, but it doesn't feel very outdated. The double bed room is more than 30 square meters, with floor-to-ceiling windows. This hotel & the nearby resort are owned & run by Dutch Clary and her Tibetan husband, both of which have been thoughtfully designed and decorated by the couple. The tapwater is drinkable, the hotel food had good Western options (banana & chocolate pancake for example) and the lobby bar is a nice place to relax with a huge library for guests to use. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. We went to Nirvana resort for dinner which is an excellent option if you're not staying at the resort for the superb 360◎ views of the Sanke grasslands. Location is right beside Labrang monastery and Clary told us exactly how to find the trail over the mountains north of the town. Highly recommend.
