My parents and I visited Tamara, Coorg in December and it was truly delightful. Perched atop a hill with stunning views of the Brahmagiri ranges, the resort offers a serene escape into nature. Eco-Conscious Comfort - From bamboo toothbrushes to outdoor lighting designed to reduce light pollution, the resort's commitment to sustainability impressed us. The natural pathways, minimal excavation, and vibrant flora and fauna enhance its harmony with the surroundings. Dining - The food, sourced largely from the resort’s garden, was fresh and satisfying. Our package included a complimentary breakfast and one meal, with the freshness of ingredients elevating the culinary experience. Activities - The resort features scenic walking trails with streams and a waterfall. Highlights of our stay included: Coffee Plantation Tour: Guided by naturalist Divya, this tour offered insights into local flora, fauna, and bird species, blending education with fun. Blossom to Brew Session: An engaging hour on coffee cultivation, culminating in a freshly brewed cup—a treat for coffee lovers. I also joined a 7 km trek led by a local guide, who shared fascinating tales about Kodava culture and the region’s flora. While the trek was exhilarating, a delay in the start time was the only downside. Missed Experiences - Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to try the spa, which looked promising. Final Thoughts Tamara, Coorg, masterfully combines luxury with sustainability, offering a peaceful retreat for families, couples, or solo travelers. Its eco-conscious practices and thoughtfully curated activities make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers.
