Hotel Vos

Theres a hottub and restaurant at the hotel. Parking is spacious and free. However it is located 20 minutes from the city Hella. No AC in rooms, windows can be opened to a statr where a small gap is opened for air circulation. Showers are clean and spacious

A surprisingly great stay at Hotel Vos. A fairly new hotel in an out of the way location. Very quiet. Rooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. Shower was excellent. Didn't use the hot tub but should have! The attached restaurant was also exceptional. Get the lamb!!! Highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Vos, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and coziness of this charming hotel made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every detail of my stay was taken care of.

We chose Vos based on the high reviews here and also proximity to everything we wanted to do on the way to Vik (about an hour drive and a half from the hotel) and yet have a shorter drive heading back north on the final day of our stay as opposed to be driving back from Vik - and from that perspective it couldn't work out any better, given I was surprised how far from the main road the hotel itself is - not that it's a problem but just quite a drive to make it back and forth if you stay for longer than 1 night, like we did. The hotel is cozy, clean, on a smaller end - for some reason I expected a much bigger property - the rooms therefore were on a smaller end, probably the smallest rooms we had during our 10 days - it wasn't an issue of course as there was still plenty room for 2 big bags to open up. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and complimentary hot tea/chocolate/coffee 24/7 was also a very welcome thing - especially at night when we stayed outside longer in the cold waiting for the northern lights :) honor bar was also a nice touch if beer (prices very comparable to everywhere else) or wine or soda/pop was something you wanted to grab (no walking distance store, nor one for quite a long drive either so pick up things before you settle in or use the honor bar) We were excited for the dinner but ultimately skipped as it's a very limited menu (understandably) - in a retrospective that wasn't the best idea as there are no really great dinner spots in this area of Iceland until you really get closer to Vik - and that is way too long of a drive just for a meal

We stayed here a few nights when touring this area and the Westman Islands. Reviews were great, but we were a little disappointed. The room and bathroom were very small, with furnishings expected at a budget hotel. The room was exceptionally clean, however. There were a lot of marks/damage to the walls from previous guests. The fire alarms must all be connected as one of the guests set off the fire alarm in his room one night and it took a few minutes for someone to turn it off. (We're guessing that he was trying to smoke in his room.) The breakfast buffet was modest but adequate. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant and it was very good. It is located a bit of a drive from the main road.

I am not usualy a „review person” but in that instant we were extremly dissapointed with our stay, so we figured we’ll warn others. After reading all the gloriuos reviews online we decided to add a little travel time to our journey and venture out from road number 1 to Hotel Vos. It was not a good idea. Firstly there was noone there to check us in. We found an envelope in reception with a key and some info. I would assume since its a hotel and not exactly a cheap one- there would be someone to answer a few questions and help us with our travel plans. Unfortunately nothing of that sort happen. Secondly - In the evening they served a daily menu. With some trully dissapointing chicken as a main. Some veggies on our plate were undercooked and some overcooked. Inside of the chicken breast was raw… The only enjoyable part was the dessert. Thirdly - the rooms were clean but tv did not work and the pillows were dated and worned out. There also is a hot top available - we did not try it. Breakfast was a small spread - but sufficient, since breakfast was included in the price of our room. All in all - do not recommend. Its nit worth a detour and extra half an hour of travel from the main road.

Super Nice hotel with very friendly staff. The food was excellent! The best we had in Iceland

Yoanna was wonderful, welcoming and fun! Food was delicious and the hot tub was a lovely way to end the day! We were hoping to see the northern lights from here but it was cloudy. Enjoyed the chess table and visiting around the tables. Beautiful sweaters in lobby, handmade!

We stayed at Hotel Vos on 7 December and wish we had time for a second night. The rooms were comfy and warm. The staff was friendly and welcoming . Breakfast was great with fresh baked bread. We were the only guests and had tbe hot tub to ourselves while we observed Northern Lights . This is a wonderful hotel and we intend to come back in the summer.
